Dateline October 10, 1995, an Amtrak train, the Sunset Limited, is derailed in the Arizona desert. One passenger is killed, 100 injured.
(NYT) ~ A note found near the wreck of the train, the Sunset Limited, en route to Los Angeles from Miami on track owned by the Southern Pacific Rail Corporation, claimed responsibility for Sons of The Pioneers Gestapo, a name that investigators said was unfamiliar to them. ~
It IS interesting it is almost six years to the day before the 9-11 attack, and five months after the Murrah Building. And that no other attacks have ever been linked to, or have credit claimed by Sons of Gestapo. (whatever THAT is)
Are we dealing with the same animal? Manufactured terrorism prior to 9-11?
This case has kinda faded from history. I couldn’t find any arrests made.
If you’re paranoia-deficient, I found this on the Internet, certain to get your tin foil hat panties in a bunch!
You didn’t hear it from me (skulks away…)
The Case of The Sunset Limited

Tin foil undies? OUCH!! The hat is bad enough.
I found life was a lot easier once I accepted the fact that liars always lie and that all politicians and bureaucrats (and MSM “journalists”) are liars. Makes reading the little “news” I bother with much less frustrating. I don’t have to decide which part is true.
Posted by MamaLiberty | May 25, 2012, 8:21 amI’m guessing tin foil undies could be shocking for some folks…
Further this affiant sayeth not.
Posted by guffaw1952 | May 25, 2012, 10:56 amYep, interesting ‘story’ there…
Posted by Old NFO | May 25, 2012, 9:48 amI’m not on board with any idea of an “inside job” regarding this attack. I’ve always subscribed to Hanlon’s law (“Never attribute to guile that which can adequately be explained by stupidity”)…
But.
“Sons of the Gestapo” is a VERY unlikely name for a Neo-Nazi group. Those numbnuts are all about bluster and (literally) sturm und drang, meaning they’re attracted to the romantic purity of the SS. The furtive sneakiness of the Gestapo is anathema to such vainglorious ideals, so I question the existence of such a group based on its name alone.
Posted by ExurbanKevin (@ExurbanKevin) | May 25, 2012, 10:45 amI agree about the name. I also remember a codicil to Hanlon’s Law (Robert Heinlein?)
“but don’t discount malice.’ Or something like that.
