Women in the Infantry?

I was never in the military.  This was not for lack of trying.  But, my physical disability was too great for me to qualify for any kind of military service.

My father had great respect for the military, and HIS father had been a Marine – before WWI.  And my step- sister’s husband did ROTC and Vietnam, and retired a Lt. Colonel in the Army.  I not only respect military folks, I value their opinion, largely because they have been there, and I have not.

American Mercenary is not as he titles.  He enlisted in the Army @ 18, and continues to serve.  And he recently wrote about this latest debate regarding women serving in the infantry.

  1. It’s quite clear this addresses no need nor solves any problem – it’s a “fairness/equality” thing. Speaking as a veteran, that’s ALWAYS a bad idea. Too bad the politicization of the military brass has blinded them to the glaring lack of necessity.

  2. I have a much better idea. Stop invading and attacking people all over the world! Let both men and women stay home to pursue their own best interest in education, entrepreneurship and raising healthy families.

We can easily defend ourselves, both locally and nationally, without being the aggressors.

Don’t mourn the dead… stop creating so many of them!!

  3. PC bullsh*t is all it is… And it will cause MORE deaths, because 90% of the females cannot hump a 70+lb pack, nor drag a comrade to safety if they are wounded. Just one more diminution of America’s fighting capability…

FEAR

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - Bene Gesserit, from Frank Herbert's Dune
