Meanwhile, In TEXAS

According to KDAF-TV, the Argyle Independent School District voted in January to allow some teachers – or “marshals” – to carry firearms on school grounds under the state’s Protection of Texas Children Act. Argyle Superintendent Dr. Telena Wright said those who wish to carry are required to hold a handgun license and undergo a psychological evaluation and firearms/emergency response training.Hopefully, signage of this type will be more successful than the ‘no guns allowed’ sign in stopping crime!

State Police Now Fingerprinting Every Texan

THINKSTOCK

This story by Jon Cassidy originally appeared at Watchdog.org.

HOUSTON – The Texas Department of Public Safety has quietly embarked on a project to take the fingerprints of every Texan old enough to drive over the next 12 years, and add them to a statewide criminal history database.

Not only has the department made that momentous decision on its own, it doesn’t even have clear legal authority to do so.

“Project”.  What a benign word describing such activity.

Akin to the NSA “project”, listening to every telephone call, both foreign and domestic, land-line and cellular.

I believed once-upon-a-time that agents of government may have done their jobs as ordered, but at least they had taken an oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution.  Between these kind of actions, and legislators taking a similar oath and then passing blatantly unconstitutional laws, that perjuring oneself during one’s oath is simply pro-forma for government service.

Because all government is backed by some kind of force.

And all these intrusions at all levels of government need to stop.

NOW.

AND, be reversed!

More Hollywood Hypocrisy?

Or just in need of further education?

Sarah Shahi

Sarah Shahi plays Sameen Shaw in the CBS drama “Person of Interest” and has also appeared in shows like “Fairly Legal” and “The L Word.” The 34 year old Texan native is descended from Persian royalty, an ex-Dallas cheerleader and a pretty good shot, too. The married mom of a three year old son spoke to FOX411 about the show, being a cheerleader and gun ownership. (…)

(…)If you own a gun you need to educate yourself. It can’t fall into the wrong hands. There should be mental checks. More background checks go into adopting a dog then someone walking into a store and being able to buy a gun. I think that’s not right.  (Fox 411)

Obviously, she needs to be educated at the very least.  I love the show Person of Interest.  And her’s is an interesting character.  But comments as above show a lack of knowledge of the issues.  Of course, they don’t interview and quote unknown, anonymous, disabled, old man bloggers.  Just beautiful people.

AND, she already HAS her gun!

So Much For ‘The Republic of Texas’!

Quizikle pointed us to recent judicial activism political agenda-making in the State of Texas.

I always liked Texas.  Not only do they have many ‘libertarian’ laws, but they were once their own Republic!  It did take them a while to evolve concealed-carry legislation, but they finally did.

And now some nazi judge says THIS:

from http://www.westernjournalism.com

Texas courts have ruled that because legally owned firearms represent “a threat of physical violence” to police, officers may ignore the 4th Amendment rights of Texas residents by treating ALL legally issued warrants as “No Knock” warrants, even if the issuing judge has made it clear that officers “…must knock on the door and announce their identity and purpose before attempting a forcible entry.

Say WHAT?

The right to petition is guaranteed by the First Amendment to the federal constitution…

In the United States the right to petition is guaranteed by the First Amendment to the federal constitution, which specifically prohibits Congress from abridging “the right of the people…to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Although often overlooked in favor of other more famous freedoms, and sometimes taken for granted,[1] many other civil liberties are enforceable against the government only by exercising this basic right.[2] The right to petition is a fundamental in a Constitutional Republic, such as the United States, as a means of protecting public participation in government.[1](Wikipedia)

Way Up North  (and now Tam) brought to our attention (in demure fanfare, as is their tradition) a movement regarding individual States of these United States petitioning for peaceful secession from the same!

I went to the All Petitions/whitehouse.gov website, and was amazed!  First, that such a group of petitions existed and second, that ‘the government’ had allowed such behavior, given their track record on such things!

By my count, there 24 States, including mine, with listed petitions!

Is this treasonous, or simply the right to petition?

Texas Logic

TEXAS LOGIC

I saw a fundamentalist Muslim extremist fall into the Rio Grande River this
morning; he was struggling to stay afloat because of all the guns and bombs
he was carrying.

Along with him was an illegal Hispanic drug cartel member who was also
struggling to stay afloat because of the large backpack of drugs that was
strapped to his back.

If they didn’t get help, they’d surely drown.

Being a responsible Texan and abiding by the law to help those in distress,
I informed the El Paso County Sheriff ‘s Office and Homeland Security.

It is now 4 pm, both have drowned, and neither authority has responded.

I’m starting to think I wasted two stamps.

The Four Rules

1. ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.

2. NEVER POINT YOUR MUZZLE AT SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.

3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET AND YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.

FEAR

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - Bene Gesserit, from Frank Herbert's Dune
