When I was a high-school senior, I had an English Lit. teacher named Donald Benjamin. He was a very cool guy-for an old guy (40?). At the end of each week, he liked to encourage group discussion, separating from the lesson plan. He advised us of this tack by getting up from his desk, coming around to the front, sitting on the desk, stroking his moustache absent-mindedly (there was a part worn in his ‘stache), and stating, “Well, …here we are!” At one point we determined Neil Armstrong should have said this, instead of his famous remarks.
I’ve been actively reading blogs now, for almost a year and a half, and thought I’d jump in, too. I completely expect no one to read my blog, so if anyone does, this will be a positive thing!
I’m having issues with the various bureaucracies evaluating my health and disability issues. I may lose my private insurance stipend, and may not get Social Security. So, I’m experiencing some stress. I’m getting pretty good at jumping through hoops, metaphorically. In the real world, I can barely walk. I hope to be able to report soon that I’ll be able to obtain the medical aid I need, and be able to afford to keep my home. Stranger things have happened.
I had a job once, years ago, as a chief investigator for a process service company. Mostly locating people for process service. The job didn’t pay much, but, the boss was terrific! He very much wanted to positively reinforce his staff. I initialled documents with my initials: GFA. His reaction was to christen me guffaw, or sometimes chortle. So, this weblog is Guffaw in AZ . Welcome!
