That Danged ‘Under The Radar’ Again!

Maddened Fowl  has a link to an article explaining how the Obama Administration is doing as it promised, going ‘under the radar’ to encourage The Senate to ratify an international small arms treaty.  Included in the treaty is a provision the supports the inclusion of small arms in the U.N. Register of Conventional Arms.
So much for the ballyhooed transparency.

The article concludes:

~”The release notes that “More than half the members of the Senate have already advised Barack Obama that they will not ratify any treaty that threatens the Second Amendment rights of American citizens.”
But it’s not clear why he is suddenly seeking Senate ratification of the measure. Especially after the situation has lain dormant for 11 years.
Theorists see significant ramifications if Obama wins a second term.”~

  1. You don't have to be much of a "theorist" to see significant ramifications for any politician(s) or nation which would make such a draconian move. "Ill-advised" would be an understatement.

  2. @Rev. Paul – Sadly, the intent seems to be to do as much 'under the radar' as possible, toward draconian ends.Government by fiat, executive order and treaties no one pays attention to.Well, hardly anyone.

  3. Not a technical person, but I believe weasels have a small radar signature (if that is the right term).

  4. Not much of one WSF… And fiat and executive orders have even less until AFTER the fact.
