A Time Machine

I don’t remember if it was Frederic Brown or Philip K. Dick?  ANYWAY, there was a very literal science-fiction short story about a man who invents a machine to go back in time.

And the story develops up to the point when he’s ready to test it.  He throws the switch and from that moment the story is told in reverse.  Word-for-word.

The way things have progressed (and I use this word intentionally) over the past 100 or so years, I would kind of like to see such a time machine in action.  Certainly, the many things of the century are remarkable, like air travel, space travel, antibiotics, the integrated circuit, computers, The Internet.  But equally bad things were invented:  The Income Tax, Popular Election of Senators, Alcohol Prohibition, Drug Control, Gun Control, meaningless wars, The Federal Reserve, the Welfare State, The Nanny State…

The Fabians have won, my friends, at least in the short term.  They knew that the violent Marxists would burn themselves out, and be relegated to the dust-bins of history.  The Fabians (now called the Progressives) went for the long haul.  Change the culture, pollute the schools and universities, lie about history long enough, and eventually the masses will believe the lies.  And demonize those who seek to disseminate the truth.

I’d like to see the State and Federal legislators dial back this march toward so-called progress.  Stop passing laws and start rescinding some!  Remove at least some of the freedom-stifling, market-killing, Constitution-destroying efforts of the past 100 years.  Keep the freedom, remove the fascist, centralized controls.  More rights – less apparatchiks!

Failing that, guess I’ll just have to throw this little switch here (click)  ereh hctiws elttil siht worht ot evah tsuj ll’I sseug ,taht gniliaF

  4. If I remember correctly, I believe the Fabians in Great Britian predicted their take over of the world some two hundred years ago. They’re a patient lot.
