A Tale of Two Canucks (Okay Three)

I like Jim Carrey for his comic acting and ability.  The Mask is hysterical, and snippets of his skits on In Living Color are as well.  He wrote Pet Detective at night, then filmed it during the day – no sleep.  He’s comedically brilliant.

And he’s from Canada.  Seems like much of Hollywood emigrated from the Great White North to seek gold in California.  And many have done just that.  Lorne Greene and William Shatner are among the many others.

But, here Mr. Carrey and I part company…

Then there are the other Canucks…

Aaron aka ‘Pimpley Bum’ of Disabled & Shooting.  Miss K of Miss K’s World

I could list many more.  And I value their opinions much more than I do Mr. Carrey’s.

Regardless, I’ll probably still watch him.  We have rights to differing opinions in this country.

Of course, if he begins posing with enemy anti-aircraft guns, calling all U.S. forces war criminals or hugging Hugo Chavez, I will stop watching.

  1. I wouldn’t be able to watch a lot of movies or listen to a lot of music if I boycotted every idiot performer out there. Unfortunately the fact that they are famous seems to translate into their opinions being worth something in our culture.

  2. I think the last Carrey movie we watched was The Truman Show, so not watching him at all won’t be much of a sacrifice. Just sayin’.

Yeah, he’s funny. He’s also wrong. If we as individuals can decide whose lives are “worth saving”, then he’s in BIG trouble, and doesn’t realize what a can of worms he just opened. But then, liberals never take note of reality, do they?
