Yeah, this would never happen!

…is what the anti-rights folks say of legal firearm possession appropriately used:

AZ:Armed Citizen Wins Gunfight in Yuma

Two people are in custody following what police believe was an attempted murder on Monday night. The Yuma Police Department says they responded to the Desert Palms Mobile Park on West 28th Street after receiving a report of shots being fired. The victim of the robbery stated that two male subjects had approached him as he stood in front of his trailer and demanded his money. The victim stated that one of the subjects had been armed with a handgun. The victim had also been armed with a legally concealed handgun, and upon being threatened, the victim and the suspect exchanged gunfire. The victim struck one of the suspects during the exchange of gunfire, at which time the suspects fled the scene. The victim was not struck by the gunfire, and was not injured. The suspect who was struck by gunfire was transported by his accomplices to the Yuma Regional Medical Center where was treated for a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was later flown to Phoenix for further treatment.  More Here at KBLU
Of course, had the victim not been armed, the headline might have read:

Yuma Citizen Robbed Killed in Trailer Park

If I’d been he, I’d prefer the former.

  2. I have relatives living in a RV+retirement community in Yuma. They must provide their own security – Neighborhood Watch type. People 75+ riding around at night in golf carts with handheld radios. Not enough police to protect them.
