Murphy’s Law Makes Me SAD!

Not him, personally.  He’s a great friend!  But, he recently left a comment on Rev. Paul’s (another great friend) Way Up North that set me off.

Murphy was commenting on the state of education in these United States.

All my nephew knows about World War Two is that we locked the Japanese Americans in camps and dropped atom bombs on Japan. But a girl in one of my college classes back in the day did one better. I was telling her and some other students that I’d just come back from a motorcycle trip through Montana, and she asked where that was. I told her what states were around it and she didn’t know where those were, either. In COLLEGE. And it turned out that before I talked to her, she did not know that Montana was a state. IN COLLEGE. Schools today don’t want to fail the precious little snowflakes so they pass the dumb ones on, education not included.

And I was reminded they no longer teach cursive handwriting, geography and real history in public school, anymore!  We used to be (when I was a kid) tops in math and science – but no more.

Is this simply an accident of Fate?  I doubt it.  I suspect THE GREAT RIGHT-WING CONSPIRACY a greater left-wing conspiracy is at the helm.  Think about it.  The Fabians have always taken the long view with regard to the socialist utopia they wanted to foist upon us.  That’s why (and how) it works!  H.G. Wells, G.B. Shaw and company believed they knew better, and sought to evolve socialist ideals generationally.  This is why the guff that was largely dismissed by younger generations 60 years ago is now being embraced by today’s youth.  And with modern technology literally in their pocket, they can be nudged in whatever direction ‘the powers that be’ deem appropriate.

Can’t spell?  Doesn’t matter – you have spel-chek.  Didn’t read the assignment?  You have Wikipedia, which the classmate next to you wrote.  Can’t do long-division?  You have a calculator.  Can’t cook?  You have a microwave.  Can’t shoot?  Doesn’t matter – the government will protect you.  Believe in AGW climate change?  The IPCC (who trumpted it’s praises for years) dismissed it due to recent findings, but no one paid attention to those details.  It’s all about the agenda.

Can’t think critically, or accept new, contradictory data without dismissing it because it doesn’t conform to the forgone conclusion?  Yes, it’s true.  You are one of Lenin’s useful idiots.

fabianWelcome to the Fabian Society!

I weep for us…

  4. America was the most successful, most free country on earth until the left gained control in the late 60’s and forced it to make one wrong turn after another. Now we’l be lucky if we ever find our way back again. Pray for America.

  5. Some time ago I was down at the Reagan building with 2 co-workers, one of whom was considerably younger. Rick and I got excited about seeing a piece of the Berlin Wall, but our younger co-worker had no idea what it was all about. She kept asking why any country would build a wall to keep people out. All I could think of was “Thanks so much public school system.”
