More Hollywood Hypocrisy?

Or just in need of further education?

sarah shahi

Sarah Shahi

Sarah Shahi plays Sameen Shaw in the CBS drama “Person of Interest” and has also appeared in shows like “Fairly Legal” and “The L Word.” The 34 year old Texan native is descended from Persian royalty, an ex-Dallas cheerleader and a pretty good shot, too. The married mom of a three year old son spoke to FOX411 about the show, being a cheerleader and gun ownership. (…)

(…)If you own a gun you need to educate yourself. It can’t fall into the wrong hands. There should be mental checks. More background checks go into adopting a dog then someone walking into a store and being able to buy a gun. I think that’s not right.  (Fox 411)

Obviously, she needs to be educated at the very least.  I love the show Person of Interest.  And her’s is an interesting character.  But comments as above show a lack of knowledge of the issues.  Of course, they don’t interview and quote unknown, anonymous, disabled, old man bloggers.  Just beautiful people.

AND, she already HAS her gun!

  1. Never heard of her before.

Seeing her picture: “wow, she’s pretty!”
Reading her comments: “wow, she’s ugly!” (and ignorant)

A talented surgeon might be able to make me GQ worthy over the course of several visits and several (hundred) thousand dollars, but it’d only take one spirited application of Hillerich & Bradsby lumber to render me an idiot. (at which time I’d no longer comment in a public venue) (wait, am I too late?)

    • Well, at least ignorant.

(Not commenting on part two! 😛 )

      • I appreciate your polite discretion regarding my uninvited Louisville Lift.

P.S. To me, the terms ignorant and ugly are synonymous. (affording all due respect to ugly and ignorant people who are victims of a beautiful and genius, though racist society) I’ll take a 5 in the looks department (with a solid 9+ in the tom-boy department) over a sneering, snot-nosed, better than thou princess anyday. Bonus points are awarded for being able to catch, gut, and cook a fish in a cast iron skillet with nothing more than mesquite embers and ‘coon grease.

Have I mentioned that I’m divorced? Amazing right?

  2. The problem with checks is that they degenerate into discretionary ownership permits that are based on political connections and social status.

    • And. of course, the ‘mental health evals’ can become restrictions, too. Witness the blanket V.A.
letter stating if you (as a vet.) aren’t handling your house finances, you must be of diminished capacity,
      and therefore a ‘prohibited person’.
The new guy up to head the CDC is one of those ‘socially conscious’ doctors who sees Society owning firearms
as a disease – and as such needs his agency to eradicate it. For the Public Health…

      Give ’em an inch…
