Dear Randi,

In your opinion do most women wear inside-the-waistband (IWB) or outside-the-waistband (OWB) holsters? What is the biggest difference other than in or out?

Confused in Canton

Now, I’m going to make you visit the link to see Randi Roger’s answer!

Holster decisions are very personal and individual, and when it comes to women (what with their different configurations, and all) even more ethereal.  Some of this might apply to you men of different shapes, as well – I’m not saying who!

  1. That’s why we ALL have a box-o-holsters… sigh… 🙂

    • Yep. Gals are different and so are guys so that holster box starts small but grows!
I like AIWB but some folks cringe at appendix carry. I’ve been doing it for over 20 yrs so I can say, “I used AIWB before it was cool.” 😉

      • Having a fused right hip (and being left-handed) I should probably be using an appendix carry, but just never developed a liking for it.
Strong side front pocket (for the .38 snub) and/or strong side IWB ‘Summer Special’ style (right behind the hip bone) for the 1911.
        But, whatever works! YRMV
