Better Living Through Chemistry

Whenever gun crimes are perpetrated, liberals love to point the finger of blame at law-abiding gun owners, but a list of mass shooters from the past 20 years proves that they all had one thing in common – and it wasn’t the weapons used. Evidence shows that the common factor in nearly every mass shooting is that all of the perpetrators were either actively taking powerful psychotropic drugs or had been taking them at one point before committing their crimes.

Multiple credible scientific studies going back more then a decade, as well as internal documents from certain pharmaceutical companies that suppressed the information show that SSRI drugs ( Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors ) have well known, but unreported side effects, including but not limited to suicide and other violent behavior.

One need only Google relevant key words or phrases to see for themselves. is one popular site that has documented over 4500 “ Mainstream Media “ reported cases from around the World of aberrant or violent behavior by those taking these powerful drugs, according to the Liberty Crier.

The extensive list shows how psychotropic drugs are linked in every case of murder and suicide:

Now, I’m truly not disparaging chemistry.  And many of the modern wonderful chemical miracles that are pervasive in our daily life. \ Imagine life without aspirin, ibuprofen, penicillin, other antibiotics.  My roommate certainly would have passed by now, if it were not for asthma medications.  And certainly these medications have helped thousands, if not millions of people.
But the pharmacological industry has somehow been able to develop these psychotropic medications and release them to the public, without them having been completely vetted or tested.
Or perhaps the ‘off the rails’ factor is calculated in, as with automobile safety equipment, food additives and other stuff?
And people are being killed.

  1. But but but it’s far easier to blame the tool than admit that modern societal ‘norms’ have created monsters. Didn’t you know?

  2. They are prescribed “powerful psychotropic drugs” because they are batshit crazy.

Societal norms prevent us from locking them up forever in really crappy warehouse institutions for the rest of their lives because that lead to disgusting conditions that, if you did it to dogs, would result in animal cruelty charges.
Do people sometimes do bad things when they take these drugs? Yes! BECAUSE THEY ARE BATSHIT CRAZY!!
Millions of patients who have or still do take them, don’t harm anyone.
Antidepressants can help SEVERELY depressed patients actually get out of bed or up off the floor.
A possible “side effect” of that mobility can be their depression is reduced enough that they may be able to carry out a suicide that they actually couldn’t before…or they could get back to living a productive life.
This was *well* known as far back in the late ’70s when it was taught to me. That ain’t new.

Blaming a set of psych drugs for the actions of a crazy person seems, IMHO, misplaced anger. The human mind is so complex that it’s easy for us to latch on to something like this.
But don’t forget that Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Counselors, Taro Cards, Palm Readers and Miss Cleo really, really suck at predicting violent behavior.
There just isn’t a way to tell what is in the heart of Man.

    • Of course, the post was basic. You fleshed out the problem.
I’m not suggesting the drugs are the proximate cause. But certainly a common factor.
      Along with the batshit craziness.
I believe this all needs additional research.
My concern additionally is the psychological element will be used as another gun control hurdle.
Thank you for your view, as always.

      • Thank you Guff. Sorry I was so long winded but I was on a caffeine fueled rant and got carried away.

When the antis combine mental health with gun control, we both cringe.
Obviously not because we want crazy people to have guns but because we have seen the cause and effect that happens when politicians assign demonic powers to inanimate objects. To the antis, just wanting to own a gun must mean you’re mentally ill.

  4. Hell, go look at side effects on damn near ANY drug… The effects are worse than what they are ‘curing’…
