Old NFO was kind enough to remind us, after having watched the ‘debate’, do we have to watch another 17 months of this!?

My answer:  NO.

My choice.

First, it wasn’t a debate.  I did debate in high school – this was not it.  There hasn’t been anything resembling a Presidential Debate since Kennedy/Nixon.

Second, they can say anything they want!  They are not under oath.  It would be more amusing had the Federal Election Commission swore them all in to tell the truth.  Then, post election, if any elected official violated his/her oath…

Yeah, right.

I can dream.

  1. It may be a pipe dream, my friend, but I like the way you think. For the record, we didn’t watch the debate; we knew the high points (if any, and that’s debatable) would be repeated endlessly the next day.

  2. A comedian on TV said: (about whether ‘your’ candidate did well or not), “It’s too early and doesn’t matter. There will be children born before the next election to people who haven’t even met yet.” 🙂

Reading a gun forum I frequent, you’d think the election was in 2 weeks. People are going nuts.
How much anger is in the country towards the “establishment” when the the trending momentum of polls is towards
    non-politicians and bomb throwers?

  3. Major kudos for your remark about “debate”. I did debate in high school, too (over 40 years ago) and debate is nothing like these free campaign speeches.

  4. You are correct, it is nothing like what we were taught about debating in school. It wasn’t a debate by any type of measure. Also, many of the questions in this “debate” were truly awful. With all the problems that face this nation the FOX moderators came up with some truly pointless, asinine questions that were a complete waste of time. Time that could have been used to discuss real issues.

    • I completely agree with your points!
Reminded me of the Barbara Walters “What kind of tree would you be?”
And this is what I’ve gleaned from the ‘Net, because I didn’t (couldn’t) actually watch…
