But Wait, There’s MORE!

from the Government…

Campaign for Liberty

Guffaw,

The Senate intends to pass a new warrantless surveillance bill granting government broad new authorities for collecting your personal information from private businesses, and it’s up to you and me to stop them.

On Wednesday the Senate may hold its first vote on the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA), S. 754.

Promoted as a “much-needed” “cybersecurity” bill, Congress devised a new way for intelligence agencies to collect your emails and sensitive data.

The bill “encourages” private companies like Google, Facebook, and Yahoo to monitor their networks and share “cyber threat indicators” broadly with agencies like the FBI, NSA, and CIA.

Worse yet, the bill allows the government to share and use your information for reasons completely unrelated to cybersecurity!

And on top of all that, this bill grants companies immunity to ensure they give the government as much information as possible…

Without having to make any effort to redact your sensitive information.

Let that sink in for a moment…

The same government that can’t protect its own data on 22.1 million federal employees, contractors, and their families and friends wants private businesses to share your personal information freely with them.

And if (more likely, when) your information is misused either by government agencies, private businesses, or both, you will be unable to hold anyone accountable.

Guffaw, you and I can both see this isn’t going to end well.

CISA is justified as necessary to stop hackers…

But sharing your Google searches and emails with Homeland Security will not stop hackers.

In fact, nothing in this bill would stop any of the cyber-attacks publicized in the press this year.

When it comes down to it, this is nothing more than a new warrantless surveillance bill.

Congress should be rolling back intelligence agencies’ surveillance powers, not granting new ones.

Recently, the President of the American Library Association, Sari Feldman, spoke out against the bill saying,

“When librarians oppose a bill with ‘information sharing’ in its name you can be sure that the bill is decidedly more than advertised.”

Businesses like Twitter, Yelp, Facebook, and Google all oppose this bill.

You only need to look at who is sponsoring this bill to realize it isn’t for your benefit or mine.

Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Richard Burr (R-NC), two of the biggest surveillance state proponents in the Senate, are working diligently to ram this legislation through.

And that makes the first potential vote on Wednesday crucial.

Per standing Senate rules, the Senate needs 60 votes to proceed on the bill.

Senators Rand Paul (R-KY), Ron Wyden (D-OR), and Bernie Sanders (I-VT), have all vocally opposed this legislation.

But it’s going to take an outpouring of opposition from grassroots Americans like you to stop this warrantless surveillance bill from passing the Senate.

That’s why it’s vital you sign your emergency “Stop the Surveillance State!” Fax Petitions to your U.S. Senators today.

These petitions let your senators know you see right through the thin façade of “cybersecurity” and recognize this bill for what it is – a new warrantless surveillance bill.

At a time when Congress needs to do more to rein in the intelligence agencies to protect your privacy, many senators are trying to expand the surveillance state.

Let them know you’ll have nothing of it.

Please take action today, then forward this email to your friends and family and ask them to sign their emergency “Stop the Surveillance State!” Fax Petitions as well.

Public pressure matters. And if you remain silent, don’t look to blame others later for your lost liberties.

It’s time the American people stand up and say, “Enough is enough!”

In Liberty,

Tim Shoemaker
Director of Legislation

Former Intelligence Analyst: Political Correctness Is A Manipulative Tool For Centralizing Power

A former intelligence analyst, Stella Morabito, who grew up in a left-wing family and calls herself a “realist,” is speaking out about mass manipulation, political correctness and the transgender agenda.

Her writings at The Federalist got the attention of Rush Limbaugh back in June when he seemed fascinated by her piece on mass delusion. A subsequent related piece is here.
In this exclusive video interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation, she details how the left uses mass manipulation techniques to confuse Americans and grab power. She condemns conservatives for not even realizing the behavior modification techniques being employed in the political square, such as those encouraged by liberals such as Cass Sunstein, who wrote the book “Nudge” or George Lakoff.

I will keep saying it until ‘they’ lock me up, or silence me – Political Correctness will be the death of this Republic!

Attitude? Belief? Mindset?

One of my regular readers (and a dear friend) teaches at the college level.  Obviously, when school shootings, such as recently occurred in Oregon happen, it gets her attention.

She wrote on her blog regarding the grief and the aftermath.  And of her decision to NEVER carry a gun into her classroom, lest she be forced to assess her students as potential threats.  In her words, I’m not going to go there.

AND THAT IS HER CHOICE!  Period.

As a part-time, professional firearms instructor, I may disagree with that choice.  But it IS her choice.

I’ve been carrying, possessing, having-nearby, wearing both concealed and/or openly, a sidearm most of my adult life.  Doing so is part of who I am and what I do.  I did so openly even when attending community college, before it was ‘restricted’ by law.

And I have already made the decision to take action, should that become necessary.  Jeff Cooper called this having a mindset.

Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.  –  Major General James Mattis (USMC – Retired)

Mattis reportedly said this to his Marines as one of his rules to live by while they were stationed in Iraq.

And that’s different from participating or teaching in a college in the United States.

The question is how different?

Certainly, one should be in Condition Yellow in a public place.  Generally aware.

But how one responds to a threat is a personal choice!

I think a wiser choice would be to be armed.  However, some folks just aren’t built that way.  And unless they radically change their mindset, it’s best they choose NOT to be armed.

Hopefully, it will always be a choice…

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!

Yet another friend lives in a gated community, for folks 55 and over (a mobile home park).  They have drive-in gate ‘security’, but they are not trained, nor armed.  Usually their function is to direct you to a person’s residence.  And the walls around the park are four feet, or less.  The closest to ‘security’ are the speed bumps.

And he advised me the other day that he NEVER LOCKS HIS HOME!

Again, his choice.

I suspect he’s not particularly aware…

Some folks just aren’t built that way.

I pray all my friends are safe, and take reasonable measures to ensure that security – whatever their choices.

Sigh.

A doctor’s take

This letter, purportedly written by a Czech doctor working in a Germany hospital, illuminates the true blessings of diversity presently being wrought by the mass Islamic migration:

Eyewitness from a Munich hospital: A friend in Prague has a friend, who, as a retired physician, had returned to work at a Munich area hospital where they needed an anaesthesiologist. I correspond with her and she forwarded me her email. Yesterday, at the hospital we had a meeting about how the situation here and at the other Munich hospitals is unsustainable. Clinics cannot handle emergencies, so they are starting to send everything to the hospitals.

Many Muslims are refusing treatment by female staff and, we, women, are refusing to go among those animals, especially from Africa. Relations between the staff and migrants are going from bad to worse. Since last weekend, migrants going to the hospitals must be accompanied by police with K-9 units.

Many migrants have AIDS, syphilis, open TB and many exotic diseases that we, in Europe, do not know how to treat them. If they receive a prescription in the pharmacy, they learn they have to pay cash. This leads to unbelievable outbursts, especially when it is about drugs for the children. They abandon the children with pharmacy staff with the words: “So, cure them here yourselves!” So the police are not just guarding the clinics and hospitals, but also large pharmacies.

Truly we said openly: Where are all those who had welcomed in front of TV cameras, with signs at train stations?! Yes, for now, the border has been closed, but a million of them are already here and we will definitely not be able to get rid of them.

Until now, the number of unemployed in Germany was 2.2 million. Now it will be at least 3.5 million. Most of these people are completely unemployable. A bare minimum of them have any education. What is more, their women usually do not work at all. I estimate that one in ten is pregnant. Hundreds of thousands of them have brought along infants and little kids under six, many emaciated and neglected. If this continues and German re-opens its borders, I’m going home to the Czech Republic. Nobody can keep me here in this situation, not even double the salary than at home. I went to Germany, not to Africa or the Middle East.

Even the professor who heads our department told us how sad it makes him to see the cleaning woman, who for 800 Euros cleans every day for years, and then meets young men in the hallways who just wait with their hand outstretched, want everything for free, and when they don’t get it they throw a fit.

I really don’t need this! But I’m afraid that if I return, that at some point it will be the same in the Czech Republic. If the Germans, with their nature cannot handle this, there in Czechia it would be total chaos. Nobody who has not come in contact with them has no idea what kind of animals they are, especially the ones from Africa, and how Muslims act superior to our staff, regarding their religious accommodation.

For now, the local hospital staff has not come down with the diseases they brought here, but, with so many hundreds of patients every day – this is just a question of time.

In a hospital near the Rhine, migrants attacked the staff with knives after they had handed over an 8-month-old on the brink of death, which they had dragged across half of Europe for three months. The child died in two days, despite having received top care at one of the best pediatric clinics in Germany. The physician had to undergo surgery and two nurses are laid up in the ICU. Nobody has been punished.

The local press is forbidden to write about it, so we know about it through email. What would have happened to a German if he had stabbed a doctor and nurses with a knife? Or if he had flung his own syphilis-infected urine into a nurse’s face and so threatened her with infection? At a minimum he’d go straight to jail and later to court. With these people – so far, nothing has happened.

And so I ask, where are all those greeters and receivers from the train stations?

Sitting pretty at home, enjoying their non-profits and looking forward to more trains and their next batch of cash from acting like greeters at the stations. If it were up to me I would round up all these greeters and bring them here first to our hospital’s emergency ward, as attendants. Then, into one building with the migrants so they can look after them there themselves, without armed police, without police dogs who today are in every hospital here in Bavaria, and without medical help.

Reconquista 2.0 is coming. The new Ordo Draconum is coming. And mark my words, this wave of mass migration will mark the end of the West’s well-meaning but ill-considered experiment in religious freedom. Forget “European union”. It is time to bring back the nations of Christendom.

The writer is wrong. The lesson of history is clear: the nations of Christendom can and will get rid of the invaders. It can be done the Spanish way, the German way, or the Romanian way. And the longer it takes to substantively address the issue, the more likely it is that one of the two latter methods will be embraced by the public and utilized.

Immigration is rape culture. Immigration is cultural rape.

So, which will it be for the United States?  The Spanish way, the German way, or the Romanian way?  Or Ordo Draconum?  In Freedom, there are always rights and responsibilities.  What will we choose?

Soon Coming To A Social Security System Near YOU (?!)

China is launching a comprehensive “credit score” system, and the more I learn about it, the more nightmarish it seems. China appears to be leveraging all the tools of the information age—electronic purchasing data, social networks, algorithmic sorting—to construct the ultimate tool of social control. It is, as one commentator put it, “authoritarianism, gamified.” Read this piece for the full flavor—it will make your head spin. If that and the little other reporting I’ve seen is accurate, the basics are this:

  • Everybody is measured by a score between 350 and 950, which is linked to their national identity card. While currently supposedly voluntary, the government has announced that it will be mandatory by 2020.
  • The system is run by two companies, Alibaba* and Tencent, which run all the social networks in China and therefore have access to a vast amount of data about people’s social ties and activities and what they say.

Become A Member Of The Party!

…or, rather, a dis-member! 🙂

(from Joel, in part)

In a year when Donald Trump is the GOP frontrunner, you have to dig deep to find political news that’s considered weird. But leave it to the intrepid Libertarians to fill that void…

Libertarian Party drama: Goat sacrifice, eugenics and a chair’s resignation

Adrian Wyllie, chairman of Florida’s Libertarian Party, resigned his post Thursday to protest the party’s U.S. Senate candidate, accusing the rival of supporting eugenics and for being expelled from a cult group for “sadistically dismembering a goat in a ritualistic sacrifice.”

The dispute between the two has brewed for months, but finally came to a head after Wyllie was unable to persuade the Libertarian Party of Florida’s executive committee to publicly disavow Invictus, an adopted name that means something like “Invincible Sun Emperor.”

In other news, spokesmyn(sp) for the National Libertarian Party say they simply don’t understand why nobody takes Libertarians seriously.

And people ask me why I’ve never joined (aka filled-out-forms and sent money to) the National Libertarian Party?

For whom have I voted?  My standard answer is, “The Australian Secret Ballot is one of our most cherished possessions!”

And I’m certain even MORE ridiculousness is evident in the skeleton closets of the two major parties!

Full disclosure – I have stumped for some of their candidates (especially back in the 70’s), but I have never dismembered a goat (even to make tacos)!

AMEN, Sistuh!

Roberta X(from the lovely, talented, and geekily knowledgeable Roberta X, in part…)

(…)

Everyone running for the Democrat nomination wants to turn a large number of gun-owning citizens into some kind of Federal criminal, with the only question being, “felon or malefeasant?”  But only one of them has hands-on experience in the kind of police-state tactics it would take to make that work, and in making them palatable to a population of people who could reasonably be expected to be skeptical.

Meanwhile, most of GOP’s hot prospects are sellin’ various flavors of Return-to-Jesusland* and shippin’ out the Dangerously Brown (a difficult trick — y’know how there are so many guns in the U.S. that no power could ever grab ’em all?  Imagine if those guns had volition didn’t want to be found…).  I’ll grant that there are serious, good reasons — including humanitarian ones — for a more secure and better-patrolled border; it’s this business of plannin’ to comb through the population and root out a “dangerous element” often referred to as “parasitic” that stinks on ice to me — and it should to you, too.  Do you recall what kinds of societies had any success at that kind of thing?  Do you realize what it takes to make it work? (Ahem, “Papers, please?”)  Did you sleep through World History class?

This is one of the lousiest candidate pools I have ever seen. Mr. Bloomberg is the worst of them — worse than Mr. Sanders, worse than Mr. Trump.  If he enters the race, I may have to vote in the Democrat primary just so I can vote against him.

* Except this country never was. The American Revolution can be cast as a kind of dialogue between the Enlightenment/Age of Reason ideas that pushed it and the Great Awakenings that bookended it.  From that angle, the Establishment Clause of  First Amendment represents a brilliantly common goal: neither party was desirous of a State church.  Thus the United States was explicitly made a safe place for believers and nonbelievers of every stripe.  This is a delicate balance and has been maintained with varying degrees of elegance and civility though the years.  We should fear any politician who feels a mandate to Do Good — especially if he or she believes it was granted by Divine authority.

There’s really nothing further to say on this subject.

Toxicity

Long time readers of my drivel know that one of my go-to sources for life hacks is The Art of Manliness.

When it comes to stuff my father didn’t teach me (because he didn’t make the time, or didn’t know – he wasn’t malicious in his errors) TAoM covers many of the bases.

Everything from how to shave to how to escape quicksand (and more) are covered!

Sometimes, the subject matter in basic, i.e. how to balance a checkbook.  Other times it’s more philosophical…

For example:

How to Cut Toxic People Out Of Your Life

Surely a delicate and difficult issue for most of us.

There are people in my own history whom I have offended, and to whom I’ve made amends.  Some have returned as friends, others have not.

The important thing is to not remain in toxic relationships, lest they damage your own psyche!

Or worse…

The Warrior Ethic

What Happened to the Warrior’s Ethic?

Via comment by Anonymous on Confederate flag prompts school lockdown: Student   (SERIOUSLY? – Guffaw)

David Yeagley

A good man who posted many Confederate pieces.  He left us way too soon and may you rest in piece, brave warrior.

Yankees respected Confederates. Why must we despise them today?

Back in 2006, my wife and I went to a friend’s house to watch Oscar De La Hoya fight Ricardo Mayorga for the World Boxing Council light–middleweight boxing championship. My wife was unfamiliar with professional boxing and was taken aback by the trash talking between the two foes, which HBO recapped during the intro to the show. “You’re going to be my bitch in my bed anytime I want you,” was one of Mr. Mayorga’s more printable insults.

Mr. De La Hoya won handily with a 6th round TKO, to the delight of many fans and my wife as well.

But, to her surprise, the fighters embraced after the fight and appeared to let bygones be bygones.
“You are a great fighter, a great champion,” Mr. Mayorga said. “I apologize for everything I said to you.”

How, she wondered, could everything be so easily settled?

The fact is, settling grievances through combat is pretty common. Kids at schools everywhere still “take it outside” and are often friends afterwards. Fighters in the boxing ring, the UFC, and other combat sports routinely find their grievances settled after a fight.

This is sometimes referred to as “the warrior’s ethic.” If a problem can’t be talked out, it can be settled by combat, often followed by mutual respect between winner and the loser.

David Yeagley, who spoke several times at American Renaissance conferences, was a Comanche activist who understood the warrior ethic:

While I believe in ‘The Warrior Ethic’, I do not believe it applies in all combat.
If someone was trying to relieve me (or my family and friends) of Life or Property, for example.  Assuming we survive, and the miscreants are in handcuffs, being prepared for extraction to the local jail (or hospital), I would have no thought of shaking their hands and exclaiming “good try”, or some other nonsense.
And certainly, those who are trying to relieve us of our Liberty deserve no ‘civil handshake’ after the ‘festivities’ have ended.
These are not hockey matches.
And, I don’t expect a handshake from the Gestapo as the boxcars pull out of the station…

TIME Mag Celebrates Marxist Killer Che Guevara’s Brave Battle With ASTHMA

They’re probably trying to find an angle which would allow them to idolize Pol Pot next. Go to the Tuol Sleng Museum in Phnom Penh. You won’t go back.

Kerry And His Mystical Khmer Dau (Rouge)

The left idolizes Che Guevara, despite the fact that he was a brutal murdering thug. So it’s no surprise to see liberal Time magazine doing a puff piece like this:

How Che Guevara Didn’t Let Asthma Affect His Ambitions

Che Guevara might have considered the United States his worst enemy, but he faced an even greater threat to his revolutionary ambitions: asthma. While it was U.S.-trained Bolivian forces who killed Che on this day, Oct. 9, in 1967, asthma was a constant threat from his earliest youth.

We have written here before about the racist, murdering, commie who has somehow been transformed into a ‘hero of the People’ on college campuses, nationwide.  And moaned about the ignorant ‘Lenin’s useful idiots’ who wear his countenance proudly on a t-shirt.  And carry Mao’s Little Red Book.
Now Time Magazine has chosen to regale us with tales of Che’, and his valiant battle with asthma!  I suspect Khrushchev will be next with his battle with weight.
MORONS!
