Much Corruption? Naw…

Government corruption has become rampant:

  • Senior SEC employees spent up to 8 hours a day surfing porn sites instead of cracking down on financial crimes
  • NSA spies pass around homemade sexual videos and pictures they’ve collected from spying on the American people

There was a time many of us (well I) trusted ‘the authorities’ to generally do that which was ‘right’.  Sure, mistakes were made, but people took oaths and policies were in place, yatta…yatta…yatta.

Not so much, anymore.

  1. I used to trust authority figures too. Then I found out long ago that blind trust was misplaced trust.
A 60 MInutes show with FBI head James Comey told of a letter he has on his office wall of Bobby Kennedy to J. Edgar giving the FBI “permission” to wiretap M. L. King….with no more purview than an AG’s signature! No courts needed or allowed.

With the twits mentioned in your post, WTF does it take to get fired from federal employment? These stories aren’t new, it’s been that way for decades!!
Which is why every April 15 I have to force myself not to puke when my taxes are collected.

      • Re: NSA types abusing their access, paraphrasing one of dearly departed Farmer Frank’s quotes:
“If you want unlimited power, you get unlimited accountability. Abuse your power once, you lose your car.
Abuse it twice, you lose your house.”

It’s about time to start putting these folks on notice that they are not above everyone else or the law.
Who do they think they are, Hillary Clinton?

  2. The only thing those people fear is THE people. I’m wondering if it isn’t time to start on that project …
