This makes two times!
Bill Maher said Donald Trump is right that the U.S. should have a profiling service that uses techniques employed by security guards in Israeli airports. The HBO host also said people already profile and that “all police work is profiling,” we just do it “stupidly.
BILL MAHER: He is for profiling, that’s what he said. But he said we should do it the way Israel does. And, like, every once in while Donald Trump says something right. Because we profile already, we just do it stupidly. All police work is profiling. Discrimination does not mean prejudice; discrimination means telling un-like things apart…
And how weird is THAT?
Mr. Maher began as a ‘comedian’, claiming he is a ‘libertarian’, then skewed far left (one presumes to attract a bevy of leftist sycophants?) Most of the time, he seems to agree with the progressives (“I think America needs to be dragged to gov’t healthcare, kicking and screaming if necessary.”). He says he owns two guns, with which he practices, in case of a home invasion, but has come out for repeal of The Second Amendment!
But, as it is said of a broken clock…
The U.S. Transportation Security Administration is one of those federal agencies that tends to inspire intense reactions among the traveling public. It’s a bureaucracy that interacts with millions of passengers each day, requiring their shoes, jackets, laptops—and time.
Virtually all this occurs at airports, with about 80 percent of the agency’s $7.4 billion budget spent on aviation security. Only 2 percent of the TSA’s funding goes to surface transportation, according to a report by the Office of Inspector General earlier this month. Congress is looking to change that.
Several U.S. senators want the TSA to focus more attention and resources on rail, highway, and marine transportation, which would mean greater security oversight at such places as Amtrak stations and Megabus coach stops. A bipartisan bill introduced Thursday by Senator John Thune (R-S.D.) would require the TSA to use a risk-based security model for these transport modes and to budget money based on those risks. It would require a wider use of the agency’s terrorist watch list by train operators and more detailed passenger manifests along with tighter screening of marine employees. The legislation also would increase the TSA’s canine use by as many as 70 dog-handler teams for surface transportation.
But, but…terrorism! They’re protecting us!
Because there are so many attempts to take buses and trains to Cuba! And there have been so many domestic attacks on boats, buses and trains.
WHAT? There haven’t?
I remember a time when there were few restrictions in public transportation regarding explosives and firearms, and very little occurred. People could purchase firearms through the mail! And the citizenry was not searched wholesale without benefit of a warrant or active crime. And they could travel relatively unmolested.
Government has used the excuse of airline hijackings and drunk drivers in the 70’s for ‘checkpoints’, and ‘no-knock’ warrants for ‘the drug war’, and now in this century, terrorist attacks on people, planes, buildings and infrastructure to create the PATRIOT Act and NDAA to further erode our civil rights. Rampant surveillance, secret prisons, secret courts and suspension of Constitutional Rights are the order of the day.
Emphasis on ORDER.
The TSA has stopped exactly HOW MANY attacks, now?
That’s right. ZERO, ZIP, BUPKIS.
And how many rights have we given up?
And now, the government is trying to steal more!

Hofstra University has posted a “trigger warning” sign to warn students about the potentially disturbing content that may be discussed during Monday night’s presidential debate.
According to CBS New York reporter Tony Aiello, a sign inside of the student center at Hofstra reads, “Trigger warning: The event conducted just beyond this sign may contain triggering and/or sensitive material. Sexual violence, sexual assault, and abuse are some topics mentioned within this event. If you feel triggered, please know there are resources to help you.”
Back when I was in college (covered wagons, etc.) there were those doing their duty. Either by questioning the authority of the government to facilitate wars, or by going to fight them! People on both sides of the issue were VERY vocal and emotional.
Yet rarely did either side feel ‘triggered’ and in need of a ‘safe space’ or ‘counseling’ based on someone’s speech alone!
Have our youth become so overly sensitive that this is thought necessary? By the nature of societal evolution?
Or, has this been the plan all along?
For that nazi/narc in you!
From Alan Korwin:
ATF Launches Anonymous Tip App
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has launched a new mobile app that enables the anonymous reporting of information regarding crimes or that could be used to help prevent the commission of crimes. With the reportit app, available through the App Store or on Google play, citizens can submit a tip and attach a photo or video. The information is forwarded to ATF in real time, but should not be used to report a crime that is currently in process. Submitters will have the option to provide personal information, but it is not required. (emphasis added).
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Is it possible this app doesn’t already know who you are if you use it? Especially considering who designed it?
Top-notch expert: Oh I’m sure it does.
Second top-notch expert: Recommend you route any tips through Hillary’s personal email server to be safe.
Third: Doesn’t everyone know the system has to identify both ends of the address to deliver the message?
Names withheld but it doesn’t matter anymore. (end)
I remember back-in-the-day, when our State police agency had a toll-free number one could use to report vehicles with out-of-State license plates (as legal residency requires in-State licensure) TRANSLATION: Revenue
And I thought THIS was beyond the pale!
If you see something, say something! – a current administration motto
For me, it’s a matter of degree. Narking on your neighbors because they are behaving suspiciously (whatever THAT means?), hmmm…
Narking on the guy driving the wrong direction, erratically (which I have done)? Of course!
Being the eyes and ears of the State? Degree, my friends.
The times, they are a changin’
Charlotte Officials To Rioters – Anyone Caught Looting Will Have Welfare And Food Stamps Revoked For Life
According to the local affiliate WBTC, the punishment also applies to minors who might be participating in the ongoing melee. Parents of underage individuals who are captured while engaging in criminal activities related to the rioting will be held fully accountable, and could risk losing state benefits, as well as the custody of their child.
“Parents are responsible for their children. If they are allowing them to engage in lawless behaviors there will be consequences for them as parents.” Charlotte City Official, Wilson Stewart, told reporters during the 30 minute press conference. “Many of the individuals we have detained are high school students. We urge parents out there to know where their children are at all times until tensions are quelled. Have them adhere to the mandatory curfew. Make them aware that participation in looting, destruction of property, and violently demonstrating on any level will come with severe penalties.”
If ONLY this were true (and the city had the power…)
from comments on Brock Townsend’s blog:
I don’t usually support more power for government, but this time it did seem appropriate. Sigh.
Peter (Bayou Renaissance Man) provided us with a well-thought-out tome regarding the recent (and ongoing) unpleasantness, and what happens if you happen to encounter such activity while driving.
The short version – DON’T BE THERE, KEEP MOVING!
Reading about these recent events took me back to my youth. No, I wasn’t protesting anything. I was simply trying to drive home.
(an aside – This was before I was an armed individual)
I had spent a pleasant evening with David Mitchell (another Dave-HA!) and was returning across the Tempe bridge when I came upon perhaps 200 people marching (well, walking together) across the bridge.
Against the flow of traffic, and my vehicle!
Not only did I not know WHY they were taking this action. I DIDN’T CARE! I simply wanted to return home to get ready for work (I was working graveyard shift at the time.)
But, here they were. All these folks. Impeding my progress – as well as the other vehicles headed in my direction. As this was a small college town, I even recognized some of the protestors (leftists, the usual suspects!)
Were they violent? (My car doors were locked, of course, as is my custom) My windows were up, also.
I waded into the crowd in my car, and kept moving. Slowly.
They banged with open palms on my windows and doors. And I kept moving. Later, I remembered my radio antenna. It remained unmolested.
Upon my return home, I determined the reason for the ‘march’ was a protest against Nixon’s invasion of Cambodia (at the height of the Vietnam War). While I may or may not have agreed with the protestors, I still had a job to go to.
I changed into my security guard uniform and went to work.
I think I was lucky. And was glad I kept moving.
Black men who try to avoid an encounter with Boston police by fleeing may have a legitimate reason to do so — and should not be deemed suspicious — according to a ruling by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
Citing Boston police data and a 2014 report by the ACLU of Massachusetts that found blacks were disproportionately stopped by the city’s police, the state’s highest court on Tuesday threw out the gun conviction of Jimmy Warren.
Okay. I get if you come from a fractured subculture wherein male leadership is largely lacking, and you are poor and a minority, and have been taught to fear ‘the man’, you might want to run if confronted.
Even if you hadn’t done anything.
BUT, the idea that fleeing the police (IF you are a Black man) your flight cannot be viewed as suspicious(!?)
Not to mention the whole racist component – What about a Black woman? Or a Latino? Or a White? Or someone of mixed race?
I see a whole can of worms being opened here for additional court cases…
Once again, activist judges take the reins, in lieu of those who swore to protect and defend The Constitution.
What? They DID swear?
I’m not surprised. So have Presidents, Congressmen, Senators, FBI heads and Supreme Court Justices over the past
60 70 100 years.
And no one (of any power) has called them on it!
For some reason, my elders saw fit to pass trinkets from their lives onto me. Some, I understand, like my Dad passing his Dad’s NY, NH & H railroad police badge to me. 🙂
And my Dad, his railroad pocket watch (complete with fob and Grand Central Station locker key)!
But others aren’t so straight forward.
My maternal grandfather (Gramp), took me aside one day and gave me a compass. He didn’t explain where he acquired it, or who it was from. Gramp passed in 1977 with this information.
I still have the police badge. I gifted the pocket watch to my long-time friend Jim, as he has always been obsessed with trains, on his 50th birthday. (He and my Father talked about trains for hours, when I wasn’t all that interested.)
I still have the compass. Compasses of the same manufacture can be found on Ebay for $55.00. Of course, they don’t have the personalization on the inside of the cover!
The inscriptions read as though they might be of military origin, including a 1917 date. The Great War? I’ve no way of knowing. Internet searches of the initials and dates haven’t provided any further information.
As it is with so many things originating with my family, like what happened to my twin brother, I guess the answers are lost forever.
Much has been written in these pages and on the Internet regarding George Soros, who unabashedly seems most interested in destroying Western Civilization.
The fact that so many of his fellow travelers and sycophants happily climb on board the train of destruction unnerves me. especially as so many of them were educated in The United States!
From Brock Townsend
George Soros should scare the hell out of anybody with a lick of sense.
Born a Hungarian Jew, his first job was working for the Nazis in World War II, helping to confiscate the property of Jews who were being rounded up, a job he not only never expressed any regret for, but that he described as one of the finest times of his life.
He has described himself, and the power he has as a billionaire, as being like a mad god.
“Next to my fantasies about being God, I also have very strong fantasies of being mad,” Soros said in an interview on British television.
And he certainly has considerable power to back up his fantasies, including the power to make the video clip of his famous 60 Minutes interview, or leaked documents from his Open Society Foundations, virtually disappear from the Internet.
Among the documents that were downloaded by various news outlets before they vanished, there are numerous eye-openers that clarify exactly how deep Soros’ various schemes go, and paint a picture of a man who can manipulate markets, order around governments and arrange coups wherever he likes.
Soros comes about as close to a comic book supervillain as you can get in real life. Honestly, he could give Lex Luthor or Doctor Doom a run for their money.
Among the revelations found so far in the Soros documents:
More @ Constitution
The fact that so many ‘young people’ (and their elders) have their minds manipulated by this clown, whilst their thoughts are buried in comic books and comicons, and superhero movies – and they are well into their 20’s! greatly concerns me.
Of course, that was probably part of the plan all along…
or a suggestion, if you will…
