A Sniper Snubbie? The 50-Yard Accurate Kimber K6s DCR .357 Mag. – Full Review.

(from Brock Townsend)

I remember the hype at the SHOT Show on January 18, 2016, when Kimber announced the new gun they were launching, the K6s revolver. While parking the car and waiting in line with the other media folks, we were all discussing what could be done to the J frame to make this something other than another “me too” product. After making my way to the Kimber booth at the top of the hill, I got my first chance to see, and then handle, the new revolver. I was apprehensive of this revolver’s introduction, for several reasons:

  1. I figure, “Use whatever works best for you” and be done with the endless discussions. I luv me a revolver, but I carry a 1911. My BUG is a revolver, though. So you pays your money, and you takes your chances. YMMV, IANAL, etc etc etc.

  2. Most folks think a snubby is inaccurate because they are difficult to shoot at longer ranges. This can be fixed with better sights – which is what Kimber did. (at a LARGE cost!)
They aren’t “inaccurate” any more than a Model 29 is inaccurate because the shooter isn’t up to the task.

I’m comfortable with either but carry a semiauto…more BBs. Put me in the ‘meh’ category. 🙂

  3. Don’t need to worry about leaving brass behind with a revolver.
Don’t need two good hands to use a revolver.
Though in a pinch … I have more than one type of screwdriver as well.
