Perhaps I should have posted this yesterday.
Like him or not, the man opened the door to The Sexual Revolution (at least as defined by him) and things continued the same.
Sadly, he supported many rights, but ignored The Second Amendment as a primary Freedom.
Libertine, YES, Libertarian, no.
And, he certainly didn’t support the Woman’s Movement, as least as defined by Steinem and other leftists.
He did spend much of his LIFE in bedwear and robes.
Perhaps there IS a message there. He did pass at 91.
Thank you Hef, for the wonderful jokes, cartoons, The Playboy Advisor, and, or course, the airbrushed nudes (including Marilyn!).
Gahan Wilson was a genius!
RIP, Mr. Hefner!
My jaw hit the floor when I heard the news.
Coming directly from the U.N.’s own website, I was furious to find out that the second largest direct funder of their global gun ban is American taxpayers like you and me.
Figures going back to the Obama administration show hundreds of thousands of dollars coming from our own government towards promoting the U.N.’s “Small Arms Treaty.”
And sadly, those funds haven’t slowed down since President Trump has taken office.
Could it just be oversight? Or could it be entrenched holdovers from the Obama administration willfully blocking President Trump from knowing this is going on?
Either way, it is unacceptable that we are continuing to fund this global gun ban.
If fully implemented in the United States, our Second Amendment would be put on life support, and it would take years to undo the damage.
That’s why I’m counting on you to support the National Association for Gun Rights’ “Defund the UN Gun Ban Ad Blitz.”
Their goal is to raise $125,000 by Thursday, September 28th.
With those funds, they are going to run an ad blitz designed to get the attention of President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
Everything from mail and email, to state-of-the-art online programs designed to identify and mobilize Second Amendment supporters, will be utilized.
But a program like this will cost a lot of money, and that’s why I’m emailing you today.
I really don’t know what you can afford, but I’m hoping you help out my good friends at the National Association for Gun Rights by digging deep to help fund their vital program.
Perhaps once I explain why this is such an important cause, you’ll even consider giving $75.
You see, the anti-gun global elites are breathing a sigh of relief.
Even with their anti-gun cheerleader Hillary Clinton not in the presidency, they are able to keep their yearly check courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer — which they are using to work towards global implementation of the Treaty.
In fact, the anti-gun global elites just got back from a posh set of meetings in Geneva, Switzerland, where they schemed about ways to implement their anti-gun agenda world-wide.
They know that as long as U.S. money keeps flooding in and our signature stays intact they will have their way eventually.
And even if implementation isn’t possible under President Trump, they are fully prepared to wait for someone like (God forbid) Senator Elizabeth Warren to take over the White House.
In the meantime, they can get by on the hundreds of thousands in U.S. funds they will accumulate by then.
And one important way to slow them down is immediately cutting off our funds to the U.N.’s “Small Arms Treaty.”
Frankly, I think President Trump would be wise to cut off a lot, maybe even all, funding to the United Nations given its long history of anti-American activity . . . but that’s a subject for another day.
Today, I hope you will stand with me in at least cutting off U.S. funding for the U.N.’s global gun ban scheme.
So please click here and chip in to help the National Association for Gun Rights raise $125,000 for their Ad Blitz by this Thursday.
After reading through the details of the Treaty, it’s hard to see how our Second Amendment could survive such an assault.
Perhaps the worst of the Treaty’s provisions can be found in Article V, which mandates countries establish a “National Control List” — or a NATIONAL GUN REGISTRATION database!
You and I both know gun registration is just the first step toward outright CONFISCATION.
And the U.N. is already plotting their next step — developing new “International Small Arms Control Standards” (ISACS).
Their goal is to impose these radical anti-gun initiatives on every nation who signs the U.N. “Small Arms Treaty.” Introductory language already includes:
*** Mandated national “screening” for all persons seeking to own guns, giving bureaucrats the final say on whether or not you’re “competent” enough to own a gun;
*** Restrictive licensing for gun and ammo sales, and perhaps even bans on certain types of firearms. This could include anything from semi-auto rifles to shotguns to handguns!
*** Restrictions on the number of guns and amount of ammo any “properly-licensed” individual may legally own;
*** Bans on magazines holding more than ten rounds;
*** Bans on owning a firearm for self-defense — unless a citizen can somehow demonstrate need and get federal government approval.
And with U.S. funding continuing to support this treaty, the global anti-gun elites are convinced that the U.S. will come on board with full implementation.
As one anti-gun world leader stated:
“[W]e expect the U.S. to abide by the Treaty even if ratification will take some time.”
That’s why the immediate defunding of this treaty is so important, and why I asked you to make such a generous contribution.
So please click here and make a generous contribution of $75 to NAGR’s “Defund the U.N. Gun Ban Ad Blitz” right away!
But if $75 is just too much for you at this time, I understand. The only reason I am asking for so much is because I know first-hand, as a U.S. Senator, just how effective the National Association for Gun Rights is.
Every cent they receive goes directly towards protecting and restoring the Second Amendment in our great country.
So please consider digging deep, whether that be giving $75, $50, or $25 it will be much appreciated, and will make a huge difference.
Whatever you give, I would just like to thank you for your dedication to liberty, and the Second Amendment.
United Stated Senator (R-KY)
P.S. I was shocked and angered to find out that the United Nation’s “Small Arms Treaty” is largely funded by U.S. tax payers like you and me.
That’s more than every country in the world with the exception of Japan.
That’s why I’m hoping I can count on you to make a generous contribution of $75, $50, or $25 to NAGR’s “Defund the U.N. Gun Ban Ad Blitz” by their Thursday deadline.
Yeah, here we go again.
I don’t want the U.N. Gun Ban but I’ve no funds.
I figured I could at least at least put this out there as another last-ditch effort!
Come and get them!
(Larry Klayman, WND) “This (Bush-Cheney) administration is the most secretive of our lifetime, even more secretive than the Nixon administration. They don’t believe the American people or Congress have any right to information.”
– Larry Klayman, chairman, Judicial Watch
Now I tend to look askance as WND, as I do many ‘sources’ on the Internet, but when Judicial Watch pays attention, so do I. – Guffaw
‘Worse than Watergate? A second rate burglary? Seriously?’
Apparently more football players are taking their knees rather than standing and saluting the American Flag during American football games!
Now, I’m about as American as they come. Born in Connecticut, raised in Arizona. A believer in both the First and Second Amendments. And businesses running their businesses as they see fit. (Sorry, Mr. President!)
If an entertainment business agrees it’s okay for their employees to act in such a disrespectful manner, so be it.
Hopefully, if the audience votes with their feet, or their on/off switch, it’s no skin off my nose.
I’m not particularly a football fan.
If I’m in a public venue, I will still stand proudly, with my hand over my heart, when the National Anthem is played. And will sing along – ( I have a passable voice!)
The protestors will display allow me to display my opinion, as I will theirs. (Hopefully)
That’s what Freedom of Speech and Redress of Grievances in a Free Republic should be!
If the government begins enforcing what kind of Speech is acceptable, we have lost…
(to my friends who disagree with this, you have a right to!)
But start telling me what Speech is acceptable, and we may have words!
Sorry Dave, no Cadacus
aka a cheat for a blog post?
SO, I finished the blog, and began my best task, ignoring the next Wednesday task is laundry!
(which I abhor, but must be done!)
And I get a telephone message from my kidney doctor – DROP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND GET TO A HOSPITAL
Which I did.
Seems my blood test showed high levels of one chemical and dangerous levels of another!
What a way to start the day?
This was last Wednesday morning…
HE’S BA-ACK! (as of this Monday)
Aside from the illness issues, the saddest part was I broke my promise to you. Since March 5, 1911, I have written a blog post. Or two, three or four. DAILY.
But while in the hospital, I was unable to access my blog on my cellular telephone. NOT THAT I HAD ANY TIME…
There were tests, and blood draws and injections and largely inedible food.
And friends and family to remind me I had reasons for all this!
To get to the chase, I had HYPOKALEMIA (low blood potassium) and HYPERCALCEMIA (excessive blood calcium).
Many of the recommendations for each disease are opposing, i.e. one says drink more water, the other, less water!
AND, I get to visit many doctors, because it’s undetermined WHY this is happening.
(at least I am home!)
So I arrived late (not my usual form), and they fit me in.
The ultrasound was easy, gooey and painless, about 10 minutes, followed by blood and urine samples (I presume I passed!)
Thursday is doc follow-up.
ANOTHER medical test…
Seems both my primary physician (and kidney physician) thought after years perfectly functioning kidneys, I should go in for an ultrasound.
So, this morning, I get to fill up on water, NOT evacuate my kidneys, and drive the 15 minutes to the clinic for an ultrasound.
THEN, wait until the procedure.
Great. Nearsightedness. A fused hip. A serious automobile accident. Diabetes. Lymphoma.
Now Kidney Disease.
I haven’t yet been shot!
Maybe someone should shoot me now and avoid the rush?
I’m beginning to think I will look like this in short time:
|It is refreshing to finally see some common sense coming out of a court in NJ, as the state is notoriously known for its illogical and Draconian gun laws that do little more than make felons out of law-abiding gun owners.
So, there I was in bed, about 0558. I usually arise 0600-ish.
And my insides strongly suggested we visit the bathroom , loo, necessary, the throne, the ‘fresher’.
So, I bolted out of bed ( as quickly as a crippled 64-year-old can!)
And I made it! (Well almost…)
Fortunately, I was able to hit the raised toilet seat.
Unfortunately, I slipped whilst trying to sit!
And, in trying to re-position myself, again slipped!
And found myself almost reclining, with not enough arm strength to maneuver.
And one leg to try to use (the right leg being fairly useless – fused hip and all)
After about 10 minutes or so of wasting my time, (I asked Judy to get my left shoe, and put it on my left foot-obtaining possible traction. Not enough.
I wrapped again on her door, to call the fire department, to pick me up.
(What joy f0r them, a scantily dressed man, somewhat ‘soiled’, in need of elevation)
In about seven minutes, they arrived, picked me up, made certain I could stand and was ambulatory. And left!
No medical check or questions!
Did they ask if anything was injured or broken? Heart attack? They didn’t even check my pulse!
There main concern was getting me into the shower…
AND, they left.
I showered, dressed, checked in with Judy, and began my day. Late!
(Don’t get me wrong! I am GLAD they were here to help. Just wish they were more concerned anout my health.)
Harry Dean Stanton passed away Friday at 91. (Reuters)
Character actor Harry Dean Stanton, who appeared in such films as “Cool Hand Luke,” “Kelly’s Heroes,” “The Godfather Part II” and “Alien,” has died at age 91, Fox News confirmed Friday.
Stanton passed away from natural causes at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.
Before finding fame in Hollywood, the Kentucky native previously served in the Navy during World War II and fought in the Battle of Okinawa. After his service, Stanton pursued acting on-stage in a University of Kentucky production of “Pygmalion.”
Once Stanton moved to Los Angeles to further pursue his craft, he appeared in his first film, “Tomahawk Trail,” in 1957.
Stanton later landed roles in numerous hit films, including “Cool Hand Luke,” “The Godfather: Part II,” and “The Missouri Breaks,” which featured his lifelong friend Jack Nicholson.
Stanton’s film career continued to flourish in the ‘80s with classics, such as “Escape from New York,” “Paris, Texas,” and “Pretty in Pink.”
In 1990, he played an ill-fated private investigator in “Wild at Heart,” which was directed by David Lynch. The filmmaker went on to cast Stanton again in “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” in 1992 and “The Straight Story” in 1999.
You will be missed, good sir!
