Disgraceful: Likely last hurdle cleared, New Orleans expected to move quickly to remove Confederate monuments

Via Billy

'Death threats,' 'threatening calls' prompt firm tasked with removing Confederate monuments to quit _lowres

A three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously cleared the way Monday evening for the monuments to be removed, issuing an opinion that criticized groups seeking to keep the statues in place for arguments that “wholly lack legal viability or support.”

With what is likely the last legal hurdle the city faces removed, the statues are expected to come down quickly. Tyronne Walker, a spokesman for Mayor Mitch Landrieu, said the city will start seeking bids Tuesday to remove the statues, and a contract will be awarded 25 days later.

California Bans Students From Traveling To ‘Anti-LGBT’ States

(from Free North Carolina)

The inmates are in charge of the asylum.

California has created a travel ban of its own, which prohibits its own public university students from traveling to “anti-LGBT” states.

The law that went into effect Jan. 1 prohibits state-funded travel to states that are not LGBT-friendly, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.

The law prevents students of the University of California and California State University from traveling to four states outlined by California attorney general Xavier Becerra, including Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Not LGBT friendly?  As defined by the California AG?

I’m not certain what that means, exactly.  Rejected ‘gender non-specific’ bathroom legislation?  Didn’t give extra rights to persons who are gender confused?

How is banning a student from travel (through the use of State funds) going to teach them anything about freedom?  (It does teach them about the abuse of State Power.)  And, how many students does this affect, exactly?  Sports teams?  Band members?  Debate clubs?

I think the California Attorney General is tilting at windmills, in the name of political correctness.

Somali “Community” Given Special Access to Secured Areas of Airports

(from Judicial Watch)

Somali “Community” Given Special Access to Secured Areas of Airports

The Obama administration’s willful failure to recognize the potential threat from radical Islamists here at home continues to place Americans at risk.  The latest example of this will shock you and in is found in just 31 pages of records we pried loose from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.  The records reveal the Department of Homeland Security has given Somalis “community engagement tours,” including security briefings, in secured areas in at least three major U.S. airports – Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and Columbus, Ohio.

The briefings provided to the Somali groups were so sensitive that in 14 instances the agency redacted portions of the records under Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) exemption (B)(7)(e) the law-enforcement “risk circumvention” exemption, which reads:

Exemption 7(E) of the Freedom of Information Act affords protection to all law enforcement information that would disclose techniques and procedures for law enforcement investigations or prosecutions, or would disclose guidelines for law enforcement investigations or prosecutions if such disclosure could reasonably be expected to risk circumvention of the law.

In one instance, Customs and Border Protection exempted under (B)(7)(e) a portion of a February 16, 2016, “Minute by Minute Agenda” provided during a tour/briefing of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). The material that was withheld from Judicial Watch as too law-enforcement sensitive – but provided in full to the Somali group – included a section entitled: “TSA Overview — Processing [Redacted].”  The invitees were provided briefings of the Global Entry system, APC [Automated Passport Control] system, secondary screening procedures, baggage-screening procedures and given tours of the holding cells/interview rooms.

Notes from the February Minneapolis St. Paul Airport tour indicate: “Current CBP and TSA job vacancies” were discussed. Attendees responded with requests for DHS outreach efforts during Somali community events to further advertise these positions to interested individuals.”

The newly released records also reveal:

  • In addition to the Minneapolis Airport tours/briefings given to Somalis during 2014 and 2015 – and first revealed by Judicial Watch in August 2016 – tours of U.S. airports and security briefings also have been provided to other groups at airports in Los Angeles and Columbus, Ohio: “Once we agree on the dates we will select the time based on prayer schedules. Another idea could be the roundtable to take place at the airport after the tour. We have done that before in LA and Columbus and it worked well both times”.

  • The timing of the Minneapolis Airport tour given to a group of Somalis in February 2016 was scheduled between 6-8pm because it would “accommodate prayer times well”

  • During the “annual” tour, federal authorities granted excursions of the facility’s “secure areas.” It is also noted that two parties in the previous year “did not pass vetting.”

  • The invitation extended to the Somalis for the Minneapolis Airport tour addressed them as “Dear Colleague,” and promised “walking people through CBP’s process, walking people through TSA’s process” and provide “a step-by-step tour of our operations, designed to offer a greater understanding of airport processes and procedures.”

Eight senior ranking Homeland Security and Customs officials were tasked with accompanying and briefing the Somalis on the February 18, 2016, Minneapolis Airport tour, including the Minneapolis Area Port Director, the Assistant Port Director, the Watch Commander, a Homeland Security Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Senior Policy Advisor (flown in from Washington), the TSA Federal Security Director and TSA Deputy Federal Security Director.

The documents show Customs officials reporting that one of the invited individuals had given “CBP Chicago a hard time” following the last tour and noted three of the invitees had had investigations against them, which had since been closed.  Another invitee had an active investigation pending.

Logically, information that is too sensitive to provide to Judicial Watch and the public should not have been given to a “community engagement tour.” The U.S. government has been aware for years that Minnesota is a hotbed of Somali terrorist-cell activity. The behind-the-scenes tours and security briefings of the Minneapolis airport very well could have created a threat to public safety.

We’ve been on watch for this issue for some time.  In August 2016, the JW Corruption Chronicles blog reported on the Muslim airport tour story: “The Obama administration gave Somali Muslims behind-the-scenes tours at a major U.S. airport after the group complained to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson about feeling harassed and profiled, government records obtained by Judicial Watch reveal. The special security tours not offered to any other group occurred at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport after Department of Homeland Security roundtable meetings with local Somali leaders to obtain feedback for ‘modifications to practices that would allow for operations to be more culturally sensitive.’”

I have no problem with law-abiding Muslims who are in the United States legally.  I do, however, take issue with those who intend to do us harm, and with unequal protection of the law!

Would we have given the same access to Mexican immigrants?  Or former IRA member?

SERIOUSLY?!  Political Correctness is killing us, now possibly literally…

Uh. I have NO Words

(from Brock Townsend)

“Transgender 101: Gender Identity in the Workplace” is a workshop that will be offered by the U.S. Naval Academy tomorrow for faculty, staff, and cadets. It will be conducted by two “transgender trainers” who created the Trans 101 session “with the hope that it would create more supportive and inclusive workplaces by helping people better understand the trans experience and what it means to be an ally to the trans community.”

How long before voluntary workshops like this will be mandatory for all members of the military? How long before the Navy’s new slogan will be “Join the navy, travel the world, and change your gender at taxpayer expense”? And how long before Christians realize that the military is an unholy institution? Tragically, probably long after the first two things come to pass.

No.   Words.

GEE…

About these “protests”…

I wonder if it’s just Soros or SEIU (famous for earlier OWS busings) or LaRaza?  Or a coordinated effort by community organizers (outside agitators) in all these groups?

I was told by a liberal friend that it didn’t happen against Obama, because folks think Trump is more dangerous (!?)  Different strokes, I guess.  I thought Obama was/is plenty dangerous…

As for me, there have been Presidents and policies with whom/which I disagreed over the past 40 years.  But, I couldn’t leave school – I’d have been suspended.  And work?  Fired.

Besides, I had and needed to keep my job!  (I’m guess this IS a job for many of these folks!)

Figures. Anti-Trump Protesters Were Bussed in to Austin #FakeProtests

Via Billy

bus-protests-3

Paid fake protesters were bused in to the anti-Trump protests in Austin, Texas.

They must have spent a lot of Soros money on this operation.

There was a whole string of buses.

Everything they do is fake or paid for.

and…
mexican-protesters
‘Students’, aka Lenin’s useful idiots.
Funny how they sport MEXICAN flags and professionally-made signs…
The Internet says the epicenter of the protest activity is OREGON! (where Austin, Berkeley, Tucson, SF et al should relocate!)
Who knew?
At least this gives folks something to do.
(BTW – I’m all for protest – it’s a fine American tradition.  Criminal damage, arson, rioting, and assault are crimes, not protest.)
(AND WHILE WE’RE ON THE SUBJECT)
There’s  ‘movement’ to force the Electoral College to change their vote to coincide with the popular vote! (I wonder if such a movement would exist if the result had been reversed?), AND, a movement to amend the Constitution to make the Presidential Election by popular vote!!
Didn’t any of these folks take Eighth Grade Civics?
For those who missed it, The United States is a REPUBLIC, NOT a democracy (aka majority/mob rule).  Please see the map below:
electoral-population-map
Do you REALLY want only the regions in blue deciding who becomes President?  THIS is why the Electoral College was created.  The Founding Fathers were smart cookies – thinking of fly-over States before the airplane was even invented!
Class dismissed.

Decency And Character

Yep.  I’m speaking of the recent dustup of things long-time ago said by candidates.

Mr. Trump has been recorded using language that might have originated in a high school locker room.  As has Secretary Clinton (at least in print).  And her husband.  And Jack Kennedy.

And, The President.

Use (or non-use) of such language, of course, is not a qualification for The Presidency.

My question is, what ever happened to the character of individuals?  Used to be persons with character aspired to be The President.  Washington, Jefferson and John Adams come to mind.  All persons of character.  Each very different.  (Yes, I know Washington and Jefferson owned slaves…)

They were human.  I suspect they might have uttered socially-inappropriate language in private moments.

But they rose to the challenge to move this Constitutional Republic forward.

I don’t see that in any of the current of recent candidates.

Now, it’s reported by the Clinton’s that they have victims of rape by Mr. Trump coming forward!  Seriously?  Not only is the timing questionable, but the whole pot-kettle thing!

I know politics by it’s very nature is dirty.  Regardless:

I weep for The Republic.

Are You A Hardcore Gun Owner?

from TFB (in part)

National Firearm Survey 2015: Are you a “Hardcore Super Owner”?

(whatever the hell THAT means! – Guffaw)

There’s a new word out there.  I’m sure T-shirts, stickers and morale patches are being produced as you read this.

The word is Hardcore Super Owner and apparently we – I am one(!) – are on the rise.

To join the club, you have to own 17 or more guns.

The survey results from the study made by public health researchers at the Harvard and Northeastern universities are still unpublished, but through the Guardian(!?) we get a preview into some of the results.

I’m far from being an expert in statistics, but I’ll begin with saying that I don’t think a survey done on less than 4 000 people (Americans) conducted online by a market research company can tell the truth.

There is also a national panel being paid (or “compensated”) represented in the statistics. There might be “indications” in the survey, but we’ll never get the truth.

The market research company that conducted the tests was: GfK http://www.gfk.com/

According to the numbers in the Guardian, the estimation is that America’s gun stock has increased by 70 million guns since 1994, to a total of around 265 million guns.

Surprisingly – if we trust the figures – the amount of owners has decreased from 25% to 22%.

More guns in fewer hands, according to the study. I have a feeling that gun ownership is on the rise, not decline, and spreading to more individuals.

According to the estimates, 133 million of the 265 million guns (about 50%) are owned by only 3% of the Americans.

The survey also states that about 400 000 guns are stolen each year.

So if you own 17 or more guns, you are classified as a Hardcore Super Owner!

(…)

Some more “facts” from the study:

The average American gun owner owns 3 guns.

Almost 8 million Americans own between 8 and 140 guns.

Here’s the entire article, with graphs and everything!  :-)I’ve known many folks with one or two guns.  Some with NO guns.  Some with hundreds.  Before my collection was added to the 400,000 stolen, I had 53.  :-(One of the more interesting things about this article, are the attached photographs of firearms as displayed in a gun store.  In Switzerland!

Many of which may not be owned in The United States!  (think there’s an agenda here?)

I now own TWO handguns.  And two pellet pistols.  Of course, my roommate owns some, as well.  How many is her business.

Personally, I think hardcore means mindset!

MOLON LABE!

PS – How many BOOKS do you own? (Just thinking about another amendment…)

Alabama ACLU sues government, claiming pro-Muslim discrimination

Via Billy

Plaintiff Yvonne Allen is a devout Christian woman who covers her hair with a headscarf as part of her religious practice. In December 2015, Ms. Allen sought to renew her driver license at the Lee County driver license office, where officials demanded that she remove her head covering to be photographed. When Ms. Allen explained her religious beliefs, the County officials responded with a remarkable claim: They admitted that there was a religious accommodation available for head coverings, but contended that it applied only to Muslims.

The ACLU press release adds:

Lee County’s refusal to grant Allen a religious accommodation contradicts state rules and violates her rights under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and the Alabama Constitution, according to the lawsuit.

“The county’s interpretation of state rules blatantly violates the First Amendment,” said Susan Watson, executive director of the ACLU of Alabama. “The government cannot discriminate between faiths in granting religious accommodations.”

Heather L. Weaver, senior staff attorney for the ACLU’s Program on Freedom of Religion and Belief, agreed. “The county’s policy is puzzling. There is absolutely no reason to restrict accommodations for religious headgear to certain religions. The Constitution protects both Christians and Muslims and, indeed, people of all faiths.

The World has indeed turned upside down.  Or, become The Bizarro World – depending on one’s point of reference.

Guffaw actually agreeing with the ACLU?!

Historically, an organization who has stood up for folks rights, even if they were ‘misunderstood’ folks – like Illinois Nazis.  But only stood up for the Second Amendment rights of folks if doing so suited another purpose.  Generally, the ACLU picks and chooses which rights and amendments to support.  And when.

I remember my father calling them THE AMERICAN COMMUNIST LAWYERS UNION!

Will wonders never cease?

Insane World: Feminists Defend Migrant Rapists, Attack White Knights

Via comment by Quartermain  on Clinton’s Censorship Tactics Aren’t Working Agains…

Barbro Sörman, a feminist politician said rapes aren't that bad when non-Western men do them
Barbro Sörman, a feminist politician said rapes aren’t that bad when non-Western men do them

In yet another strange twisting of logic, Swedish feminists say they would rather be raped by migrants and refugees rather than saved from rape by local men. They also say rape is worse when Swedish men do it rather than when the immigrants they love so much do it. What a strange, socially engineered world we have entered in the 21st century.

Earlier this year, when around 200 Swedish White Knights attacked rape-fugees to defend Swedish women, these girls spun up a really neat collective hamster rationalization and attacked the men who were defending their honor instead of rapists. Here’s what they did:

Feminists created the hashtag #inteerkvinna (translated as #notyourwoman) where they spewed their hatred over racism, fascism, white men and many other things that can be loosely tied to the events with some cognitive dissonance. In short, they made a collective tantrum on social media over the fact that white European men are standing up to the rape-fugees.

It has been said women invite, men invade. Call it a societal shit test in which women have evolved psychological and sociological behaviors that test to see which group of men has the stronger seed, the invaders or the locals. So far, the invaders are winning and will be the ones women increasingly support and breed with, as they continue to select for brutes instead of nice boys.

The feminists even went so far as to say “It’s YOU I’m afraid of” to Swedish men, the same men who are unbelievably the descendants of Vikings now completely de-balled by their own government. A Swedish feminist politician named Barbro Sörman said it’s “worse” when Swedish men rape than when the wonderful refugees do it:

Seriously?
I think inclusion and political correctness have finally reached critical mass.  Sexual assault by someone using their religion as motivation is preferable to being saved from said assault by your own countrymen.

♫ Feelings ♫, Part Dos

I, generally, want the government to leave people alone.  If you think you are really a six-legged otter, and not a human, go ahead.

Be happy in your delusion.

Just don’t bother ME with it, or petition the government to mandate some kind of accommodation for all six-legged otter thinking people!

Just because you feel you are a woman inside a man’s body – or vice versa – doesn’t mean you are.  I’m a big believer in scientific evidence.  If you can show your chromosomal makeup is somehow skewed, then please, get help!  Have surgery and counseling.  Be who nature intended you to be.

BUT, if your opinion is just based on HOW YOU FEEL – also, seek help.  Don’t force others to join you in your fantasy, however.

Although popular culture and many of the leading media organizations have bought wholeheartedly into the idea that gender identity is something distinct from one’s biological sex — that a man could be born in a woman’s body or vice versa — such beliefs have no grounding in any credible scientific evidence, according to a report published Monday in the journal The New Atlantis.

Arizona State University professor of statistics and biostatistics Lawrence S. Mayer and John Hopkins University Medical School professor of psychiatrics Paul McHugh co-authored the report, which examined top peer-reviewed studies in the biological, psychological, and social sciences.

“Examining research from the biological, psychological, and social sciences, this report shows that some of the most frequently heard claims about sexuality and gender are not supported by scientific evidence,” they noted.

Sounds as if many of these folks have ‘issues’.  Please seek help.
