Looking For Another Civil War Spark?

Because BLM, pipeline protests, post-election riots, yadda yadda aren’t yet doing it?

Do you think President Trump will allow SEVEN major metropolitan areas to openly flaunt federal law?

Or send in the National Guard?

(OR, will he just let them fester in the increased crime from undocumented folks who suck at the government teats until they are dry?)

Time will tell, I guess.

(It does look like a good starting point to find and collect the (up to) three million illegal aliens he wants to deport, though?)

Hey look, they are spread about the country!

Necessary

Does President-elect DJT have the gravitas to do what is necessary?  Without compromising the Constitution?

AH! There’s the rub.

No extra-constitutional executive orders.  No bulls-in-china-shops (in spite of the fact he has no verbal filters!)

Of course, as with GWB, it won’t matter what he does or says to some people, just because he’s (in their view) the wrong person.

Bayou Renaissance Man has a take on the recent (and ongoing) unpleasantness (in part):

Black Lives Matter, the ND Pipeline and the anti-Trump protests: same old, same old

I’m astonished that no-one has yet pointed out, publicly and loudly, that the organized anti-Trump protests following his victory in last Tuesday’s election are as organized, and as manipulative, as most of the other protests we’ve seen all year long.  It’s the same professional agitators, going from issue to issue and from state to state, seizing on any popular idea and transforming it into a lever to undermine our nation, our democracy and our constitution.Consider:

  • The Black Lives Matter protests were very clearly organized.  Numerous police forces admitted or asserted that ‘outsiders‘ came into town to make trouble, then moved on to the next protest.  They were funded by the same source that bankrolled the Ferguson riots ‘protests’.
  • As soon as the North Dakota pipeline protests geared up a few months ago, what happened to the BLM protests?  Suddenly there was hardly a mention of them.  The reason was simple – the activists turning the pipeline protests into a violent anti-police, anti-The-Man free-for-all were often the same ones that had been behind the BLM nastiness.
  • Now that President-elect Trump is the focus, what’s happened to the pipeline protests?  All of a sudden we don’t hear Word One about them in the media . . . because those organizing them, and spearheading the violence there, are now organizing the protests and spearheading the violence in the anti-Trump protests.

I’d love to be able to examine arrest records, or attendance records, from police forces all over the country, to see how many names and how many faces cropped up at all of the above protests over the past year.  I’m willing to bet money there’ll be a lot of overlap.

One hopes Mr. Trump will find a way to cut the Gordian knot that ties all these anti-constitutional, anti-democratic, anti-American organizations and individuals together.  It’s long overdue . . . and entirely necessary, IMHO.

Peter

An interesting perspective.  Could it be that the same protesters move from protest to protest – almost as if it is their job?
(Remembering the OWS protesters and the similar folks who appear after mass shootings)
Finding a way to ‘cut the Gordian knot’ (as Peter puts it) + my .02…
CONSTITUTIONALLY!
And, of course, recognizing the other guy remains President for a while longer…

Reverse Discrimination

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 (link)

This act, signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson on July 2, 1964, prohibited discrimination in public places, provided for the integration of schools and other public facilities, and made employment discrimination illegal. This document was the most sweeping civil rights legislation since Reconstruction.

Here we are, in our ultra-modern, colorblind society, 52 years later…

“No white people allowed:” The Power of a Separate Space (The Crimson)

What’s good for thee, but not for me?

This BLM nonsense (and it’s additional illegitimate spawn) have ’empowered’ persons of color to take back the power they somehow missed, and do their own thing.

I see this as an extension of the street wisdom of ‘whitey don’t know anything – we must find our own way’, complete with no basic understanding of language, history or culture. (Ebonics, the 3/5 compromise, etc.)  Making well-meaning but ignorant folks easily manipulated (Lenin’s Useful Idiots, again).

Just as the Fabians, the communists, Saul Alinsky and many others planned!

And they have their willing accomplices in the media and government fueling the fires!  And approving illegal, segregated activity.

It’s back-of-the-bus for YOU, whitey!

Hasn’t anyone learned anything?

Rifles In Time Square

from TFB (in part)

First of all, my thoughts and prayers go out to the survivors and family members of the police officers murdered yesterday.  The female officer who was killed had just returned from maternity leave.  She had a four-month old child.  –  Guffaw

DSC_0306

Whenever I travel somewhere, I have a tendency to notice armed police/security. Especially when they are carrying rifles. Just one week after the Chelsea bombing in NYC, my wife and I took our 4 month old to visit NYC. It was a bit of a risk since I could not legally carry in NYC, but then CCW won’t do much against an IED like what was used last week.. Anyway I noticed an increase in police activity. A lot more police officers on patrol. When I took this picture, I saw people coming up to these officers and thanking them for their service.

However these other officers stood out like sore thumbs in Time Square. They are all wearing Ops-Core helmets and what look like plate carriers. I do like that they have modernized and are using hearing protection which also doubles as communication head sets to their radios.  The rifles are sporting what looks like Aimpoint Pros with rear MBUS. The front sight is a folding gasblock front sight and the railed handguards have Inforce WMLs.

I remember posting about civilian police being deployed on a regular basis in teams with selective-fire weaponry some time ago.  Beginning in NYC.

And I was told this is already occurring in other metropolitan areas.

I remember active discussions in my Police Science classes (in the mid-70’s) regarding civil liberties versus police presence.  And the general consensus was we, as a society, preferred NOT to have cops on every corner!  Having them in teams with rifles was not even on the radar, then!

YES, we need policing.  How we go about it is the question.

And how we preserve, protect and defend The Constitution (including The Bill of Rights, of course) is another question.

The fact that we even have to ask these questions in the wake of the BLM violence and the cop killings in California (on a domestic violence call) further makes the point.

How armed do we want the police to be versus the legally-armed citizenry?

Homicides Are UP!?

Homicides in the United States went up by more than 10 percent in 2015 over the year before, while violent crime increased by nearly 4 percent in the same period, according to new statistics released Monday by the FBI.

All told, the country reported its highest estimated violent crime rate in three years, and while these numbers are far below those seen one or two decades earlier, they mark a sharp increase following two years of declines, the FBI’s summary of crime figures showed.
MORE  (from Wirecutter)

WTF?  Between the conservative agenda (a record number of CCW/Constitutional Carry States) and the liberal agenda (fallout from the Obama presidency) one would think murder would have been eradicated by now!  😛

Of course, if progressively-run metro areas (like Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C., New York City) with their oppressive gun-control laws are factored out, as well as Black-on-Black and gang crime, I’d bet the numbers are even lower!

AH!  Statistics!

The #BlackLivesMatter movement is not a movement against institutionalized racism in America. It cannot be, because institutionalized racism in America, for the most part, doesn’t exist. We have a black president (notice I didn’t say African-American), our schools are integrated, our military is integrated and opportunity abounds for those who seize it in this country.

No, BLM is simply a front for a Marxist takeover and destruction of what made this country great — freedom and individual responsibility. It is a threat from within. It is seditious garbage. It is Marxism pure and simple. The movement is being funded from outside and the youth of our country are being manipulated and brainwashed.

Most of the “protesters” in Charlotte were from out of state and paid from outside.

Community organizers or outside agitators?  What’s in a name?
*OK, one more time “I’m shocked.  SHOCKED!” (from Casablanca – WATCH AN OLD MOVIE ONCE IN A WHILE!)

Kaepernick

Regular readers of GiA know I’m no sports fan.  It’s only when a sports figure does something of note (as with many of the Olympic athletes) or does something onerous (as with some Olympic athletes) that it gets my attention.

This Kaepernick guy apparently refused to stand for the National Anthem at the last game.  And, in spite of the firestorm of controversy reacting to his remaining seated, said he will continue not to stand.  Until things change regarding the oppression of Blacks in the United States.

He’s Black.  His parents are White.  He makes NINETEEN MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR AND LIVES IN A MANSION.

What could have happened?  What oppression?

A quick search (on Duck Duck Go) regarding the National Anthem situation made it appear his protest was all about injustice done to Blacks.  BLM stuff.  A subsequent search adding the term ISLAM brought forth stories that Kaepernick converted to Islam during the off season – probably because his girlfriend is a radical Islam radio show personality…

Funny how the more narrow Internet search failed to mention this conversion.  And the ‘news’ outlets in the broader version consisted of bloggers and sketchier news outlets (IOW, NOT CNN, NBC and such.  WND for example).

Which brings me to my point.  Many of the folks leaving comments on the National Anthem story demand that Kaepernick be forced to stand.  As repulsive as his behavior my be, forcing someone to stand in ‘free’ Republic doesn’t sound like an appropriate response to me.

I’m a big believer in free markets.  And voting with one’s feet, TV remotes and wallets.  And via Email and post if necessary.

If you don’t want to support this clown, don’t watch his game, buy his team’s foam fingers or products advertised.  Hit ’em where it hurts.

I LOVE this Republic and her Anthem.  Singing along with my hand over my heart sometimes brings me to tears.

But forcing someone to stand – that smacks of fascism, and certainly doesn’t paint a portrait of the Land Of The Free.

I don’t care what religion he is.  But, it IS interesting that the mainstream media has been soft-pedaling that information.

Hmmm.

ANY Excuse?

The BLM (NOT the Bureau of Land Management, although both foment illegal activity) seems to be engaged in using any hyperbole to start riot, criminal damage, you name it.

In the name of ‘give us what we are owed, because we are Black, and Whitey wronged us!’  Or something.

Most recently in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Because a police officer shot a Black man.

Be Aware And Not There! National Day of Rage July 15th, 2016

The hacktivist group Anonymous is now calling for nationwide Day of Rage protests on Friday, July 15th. The video below promotes the protests.(WARNING: There is some disturbing and graphic violence in this video):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEWtsSffvQg  [About 5 ½ minutes; it isn’t necessary to watch it for purposes of the warning being given].
Use this as a list of places NOT to be on Friday the 15th. While the video by Anonymous does specify non-violence and denounces the actions taken against police officers that were not involved in these deaths, with the tagline “Day of Rage” I think it’s safe to expect emotions to be running very high on both sides of the line. No matter how great your empathy might be for those who have unjustly lost their lives, these protests are not safe places to be.

Now, I truly hope these events turn into a big ‘so what-who cares’, and no one shows up!  But, given the attitude de BLM (as reported ad nauseum) it might be wise to avoid these areas and nearby neighborhoods.

I’m all about the right to protest (a fine American tradition!), but given recent events, the suggestion this is about incitement to riot and not peaceful protest is rather obvious.

And I’m too old and infirmed to be in the middle of a race riot and possible assaults on police.

The Politically-Incorrect On Television

I’ve gotten used to seeing political correctness on TV.  Not that I like it, but have come to the realization that most of the TV show writers, producers and networks foster an agenda.  Nowhere near that of a constitutional republic.

And many times, it’s not based in fact – it’s based on what is perceived as popular and liberal.

An aside on a sitcom about the prevalence of global warming; the presence of a gun – in and of itself – shown as evil and dangerous.  The whole BLM agenda, as well.

But, occasionally, some differing opinions slip through the cracks!

Last Man Standing – a sitcom with Tim Allen as a beleaguered conservative business owner, surrounded by liberals and mostly conservative females.  Making statements against The President’s policies and Secretary Clinton’s lack-of-action about Benghazi.  And, still remaining a comedy!

Blue Bloods – a Tom Selleck (a Gunsite graduate) cop family vehicle including Catholicism, proper gun handling instruction, and the difficult balancing of policing with civil liberties.  Tom plays the current police commissioner.

Criminal Minds – The FBI against serial killers, with Joe Mantegna (another Gunsite graduate) showing off many his many skills.

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders – Another FBI vehicle, this time offshore, with Gary Sinise (a champion for the American Veteran).  In a recent episode, they helped capture a duo of American mass murderers in Cuba (!)  Sinise gave a passionate spiel about the Communist propaganda prevalent on our college campuses, and the ubiquitiousness of that vile t-shirt celebrating a murdering bigot Che’!

So, there IS hope…

Sadly, watching Blue Bloods, with Mr. Selleck as the Police Commissioner, I’m reminded of watching the movie Air Force One (in the 80’s), wherein Harrison Ford plays a President who had been a Green Beret (I remember).  He stands up to terrorists and kicks a**!

I left the theater feeling good.  Until I remembered Bill Clinton was (then) the actual President!

And the current P.C. of NYC is no Tom Selleck!  😦

"Round up the usual suspects."

In Loving Memory…
