What To Do? Put ‘Em In The Corner?

(from Kenny)

The Australian school board condones this?

Teachers at a primary school in Sydney, Australia have been threatened with beheading and other violence from young Islamic students, prompting one of them to quit her job.

Students as young as those in Year 5, according to the Daily Telegraph, are making the violent threats and pressuring others to read the Koran at Punchbowl Public School in Sydney.

Documents given to the newspaper allege that three staff members have taken a leave of absence owing to stress, received counselling and been awarded compensation after bullying from Islamic students.

Political Correctness is killing Europe, Asia, and has landed here.

Teachers not allowed to control their classrooms?  Of course, we are seeing that here, as well.  Just not to THIS degree (yet).

At least we have a Bill of Rights.  Australia has none – although some of their States have ‘something’.

You know I’m all for property trained personnel with guns in schools.  Australia, not so pro-gun.  If a terrorist presents a viable threat against an administrator, teacher or student, there would be a solution here.

I don’t care is they are another student!  If they are armed and refuse to stand down and be arrested…

Staff members being bullied?

I don’t think so…

Remember, We’re A REPUBLIC!

flag(Yes, yes.  I know many think we have devolved into an oligarchy.  I’m writing about what we are as a Nation, on PAPER!)

To Benjamin Franklin:  “Well, Doctor, What have you given us, a Republic or a Monarchy?”

“A Republic, if you can keep it!”

There are various other versions of this supposed quotation, the essence of which is WE (The United States) are a REPUBLIC!

Remember THIS from Grade School?

“…and to the Republic, for which it stands.”

Speech by Senator John F. Kennedy, Beverly Hilton Hotel, Los Angeles, CA – (Advance Release Text)
November 2, 1960  (excerpts):

We live in a fast moving nation. But one thing constant from the birth of our Republic has been our faith in education and our determination to make it available to all our citizens.

(…)

Thus the value and importance of education was at the foundation of Western thought – and was again present at the foundation of the American Republic.

Virtually EVERY President (Yes, even Barack Obama!) referred in some manner to the American Republic!  (Don’t believe me, do your own searches!)

We are NOT, and NEVER HAVE BEEN, a democracy!

Then, why do all politicians, even conservative republicans (democrats are a given) make statements to the affect that thus-and-such yatta-yatta this democracy?

WHAT CHANGED?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Werd Play

I like speaking and writing correctly.  Sometimes, I even succeed at so doing.  🙂

Perhaps a better title for this post would be Word Pet Peeves.

IRREGARDLESS

I loathe the use of this instead of the correct word, REGARDLESS.  Sadly, the O.E.D. (Oxford English Dictionary) has added this variant as a real word, because it is in common use.

SUPOSABLY

My guess is people were trying to pronounce SUPPOSEDLY, and stumbled.  Or mis-heard.  Then adopted it as correct.  It’s not.

PERBATIM

I used to work with an investigator.  An educated man, I can only surmise he mis-heard VERBATIM, and ran with it.

(One from my roommate)  FORTE

When one is good at something.  You may notice an accent is missing.  It is NOT FORTE’ !  And is pronounced fortAgain, something done wrong in common usage.  Look it up.  I had to.

And don’t get me started on mis-heard song lyrics!  I blame overly loud speakers, concert noise and the tinny AM radios of my youth.  Any suggestion that over indulgence in alcohol or other chemicals does not apply – to me, anyway!  😛

There have been books written about them.

Trigger warnings…..

Hofstra University has posted a “trigger warning” sign to warn students about the potentially disturbing content that may be discussed during Monday night’s presidential debate.

trigger

According to CBS New York reporter Tony Aiello, a sign inside of the student center at Hofstra reads, “Trigger warning: The event conducted just beyond this sign may contain triggering and/or sensitive material. Sexual violence, sexual assault, and abuse are some topics mentioned within this event. If you feel triggered, please know there are resources to help you.”

Seriously?

Back when I was in college (covered wagons, etc.) there were those doing their duty.  Either by questioning the authority of the government to facilitate wars, or by going to fight them!  People on both sides of the issue were VERY vocal and emotional.

Yet rarely did either side feel ‘triggered’ and in need of a ‘safe space’ or ‘counseling’ based on someone’s speech alone!

Have our youth become so overly sensitive that this is thought necessary?  By the nature of societal evolution?

Or, has this been the plan all along?tin_foil_hat_area

Police Assassination

dpdYes.  That’s exactly what it is.

MURDER as a political act.

Lets’ see…

Murder is illegal.  Murder toward a political end is illegal.  Assault with intent to commit murder is illegal.  Use of firearms by criminals is illegal.  Evading the police after the act is illegal.  Hiding perpetrators and evidence is illegal.  Hindering prosecution is illegal.

Some folks will focus on the motivation of the perpetrators.  Is it a ‘hate crime’?  WHY would the bad guys do such a thing?

As far as I’m concerned, when it comes to motivation, I DON’T CARE!  Hate crime is code for ‘you are not thinking correctly – report to the reeducation camps‘.  I’ll be a truant, thank you.  What I think Is MY business!  An assault remains an assault.  A murder a murder.

Like them or not, The Police are the thin blue line between most communities and anarchy.  Sure most homogenous communities would have some crime with or without the police.  My white-bread college town doesn’t have too much crime.  Under-age drinking; drug use and related offenses.  But what about minority communities with a fractured social structure?  South Chicago, for example?  Where the crime is largely Black-on-Black?

So, where does such criminality to attack police come from?  Certainly from police abuse against minorities, real and imagined,  as propagandized by certain political movements (communists, anarchists, Black power advocates) – politicians and community organizers meeting with their leaders, and making anti-law enforcement statements(!)

And there we have it.  If these ‘reverends’, ‘community organizers*’ and politicians actually stood up for non-violence, peace, and brotherhood.  And facts.  Perhaps acts such as occurred in Dallas would not have happened.

Facts.  That recent shooting where the Black man had a gun.  And a violent criminal record.  Not unlike that Missouri guy.  The tall, athletic guy, with a history of strong-arm-robbery, going for the security guy’s gun.

Do we not think that certain powers won’t utilize Dallas as yet another stepping stone toward abridging the rights of the law-abiding?

Double-secret probation, if you will?  Making it MORE illegal?

Our focus should first be on the good thoughts and prayers for the deceased, injured and their families.  Second, on bringing the perpetrators to justice.

And third, on stopping crime in fractured neighborhoods.  Instead of just letting them fester.

A tall order, I know.

Injustice And Re-Writing History, Part II

(aka Reparations to Ireland?)

from Brock Townsend:

In Memory Of The Irish Victims Of Slavery
More links on both NamSouth and FNC

  ******************************

Did you know that more Irish slaves were sold in the 17th century than black slaves? With a staggering death rate between 37% to 50%, this is the story the history books will not tell you.

White and Black Slaves in the Sugar Plantations of Barbados. None of the Irish victims ever made it back to their homeland to describe their ordeal. These are the lost slaves; the ones that time and biased history books conveniently forgot.

The first slaves imported into the American colonies were 100 White children. They arrived during Easter, 1619, four months before the arrival of a the first shipment of Black slaves.Mainstream histories refer to these laborers as indentured servants, not slaves, because many agreed to work for a set period of time in exchange for land and rights.

Yet in reality, indenture was enslavement, since slavery applies to any person who is bought and sold, chained and abused, whether for a decade or a lifetime.

More on revisionist history.
Believe me, I am not condoning or excusing Black slavery by mentioning there were White slaves, as well.  Slavery is wrong.  Period.  But we should know all history, not just that fitting an agenda.
Camps for Germans and Italians during WWII, as well?  Yep.  Certainly not as many, but…
It wasn’t just the Japanese.

22 VETERANS COMMIT SUICIDE DAILY

Even ONE of these heroes making this choice is unacceptable! (Day #20 of 22)

Injustice And Re-Writing History

I’ve oft stated in these pages I LOVE THE UNITED STATES – WARTS AND ALL!

Which is why revisionist history really torques my jaw.

The first slave owner in America was a Black man!  Did you know that?  Probably not, because of those who rewrite history.

And now this, from Free North Carolina

Comment by Anonymous: ……..This is almost as bad as the group of cops and state troopers in Bardstown Ky. who spent over a year gang raping a 13 year old girl. They were not only NOT charged with any crime. They didn’t even get a reprimand. The cops say they just cannot understand why there are no witnesses when one of them gets shot. Gee Wiz guys maybe being thieves and child molesting scum has something to do with that.

In reply: RGRANT Was the cop that shot-gunned on the off ramp in Bardstown a couple years in on it? Maybe the principal of Shoot, Shovel, Shut up Southern justice in action.

A Challenge

My good friend (and shooting buddy) Marlo challenged me to put something on my blog.  Normally, I wouldn’t pick up the gauntlet, but in this case, it’s too important not to!

(FROM HER FB PAGE)

9 of 22 — I’m doing ‪#‎22pushups‬ to raise awareness that American Veterans have been committing suicide at an alarming rate. I was called out by an elementary school classmate, a West Point graduate, and proud vet, Bill Nygaard I am again issuing a choice of challenges, either the 22 pushup awareness challenge OR donating 22 hours of service to veterans in any way you can. So, for the #22pushups, up next is… Kim Cox, Master organizer, fellow psychodramatist, and fellow happily married woman. (Modifiied push-ups model accepting help to reach your goals.)

If you accept, copy and paste this status to each of your videos. Video yourself doing 22 push-ups to your ability level & post the video to Facebook and other social media using the hashtag #22pushups. The goal is to raise awareness for our service members battling this demon.

In the alternate challenge, I challenge friend Guffaw in AZ to make 22 mentions of veteran services in his blog posts over the next 22 days using hashtags ‪#‎22kill‬ and #22pushups.

Please spread the word that veteran suicide is not the answer. A new video will be posted for each of the next 13 times, new people being challenged each time.

Thank you to Project Welcome Home Troops that does great work helping our veterans overcome PTSD. http://www.projectwelcomehometroops.org/#22Kill

Obviously push-ups and Guffaw videos won’t be happening in this venue.  But I will make an effort to post regarding veteran’s services for the next 22 days.
And I would ask all of you bloggers out there to at least make the effort to post a link to www.projectwelcomehometroops.org/#22kill

The Politically-Incorrect On Television

I’ve gotten used to seeing political correctness on TV.  Not that I like it, but have come to the realization that most of the TV show writers, producers and networks foster an agenda.  Nowhere near that of a constitutional republic.

And many times, it’s not based in fact – it’s based on what is perceived as popular and liberal.

An aside on a sitcom about the prevalence of global warming; the presence of a gun – in and of itself – shown as evil and dangerous.  The whole BLM agenda, as well.

But, occasionally, some differing opinions slip through the cracks!

Last Man Standing – a sitcom with Tim Allen as a beleaguered conservative business owner, surrounded by liberals and mostly conservative females.  Making statements against The President’s policies and Secretary Clinton’s lack-of-action about Benghazi.  And, still remaining a comedy!

Blue Bloods – a Tom Selleck (a Gunsite graduate) cop family vehicle including Catholicism, proper gun handling instruction, and the difficult balancing of policing with civil liberties.  Tom plays the current police commissioner.

Criminal Minds – The FBI against serial killers, with Joe Mantegna (another Gunsite graduate) showing off many his many skills.

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders – Another FBI vehicle, this time offshore, with Gary Sinise (a champion for the American Veteran).  In a recent episode, they helped capture a duo of American mass murderers in Cuba (!)  Sinise gave a passionate spiel about the Communist propaganda prevalent on our college campuses, and the ubiquitiousness of that vile t-shirt celebrating a murdering bigot Che’!

So, there IS hope…

Sadly, watching Blue Bloods, with Mr. Selleck as the Police Commissioner, I’m reminded of watching the movie Air Force One (in the 80’s), wherein Harrison Ford plays a President who had been a Green Beret (I remember).  He stands up to terrorists and kicks a**!

I left the theater feeling good.  Until I remembered Bill Clinton was (then) the actual President!

And the current P.C. of NYC is no Tom Selleck!  😦

"Round up the usual suspects."

In Loving Memory…
