Fuel To The Already Dead Fire

(from Wirecutter)

Obama’s brother produces THE birth certificate

An Obama has joined the birther movement.
Malik Obama, Barack Obama’s half-brother, tweeted image of what appears to be Barack’s birth certificate.
Except it’s not from Hawaii, but rather Kenya.

From the Day Late Dollar Short, or the What Took You So Long Department!

Seriously – How many birth certificates ARE THERE?  And how did he get a Connecticut Social Security number?  And why are his school records sealed?

And, why would one’s half brother do such a thing?  Now?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Canadian Muslim Girl Goes on Mass Stabbing Spree – 8 Injured=> Authorities Baffled on Motive Behind Attack

Via Billy

stabbing canada

A 14 year-old Canadian girl went on a stabbing spree this week at Dunbarton High School in Pickering, Ontario.

Eight students were hurt in the attack.

Ambulances sit in front of Dunbarton High School following a multiple stabbing at the Pickering, Ont., high school on Feb. 23.

Police accused 14-year-old girl Z**** V**** of the crime.

Apparently, the political correctness disease either has moved up to Canuckistan, or migrated down from there to us.  In any case, this isn’t a dreaded ‘gun violence’ type attack, so it didn’t get much press here in Southern Canuckistan.
I intentionally edited out the (alleged) miscreant’s name, so as to not give her any more notoriety.

Correlation?

Cocaine Production Plummets After DEA Kicked Out Of Bolivia

Via sauced07

After the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) was kicked out of Bolivia, the country was able to drastically reduce the amount of coca (cocaine) produced within its borders. According to data released by the United Nations, cocaine production in the country declined by 11% in the past year, marking the fourth year in a row of steady decrease.

It was just seven years ago that the DEA left Bolivia — and only three years after that, progress was finally made. The strategy employed by the Bolivian government may be a surprise to many prohibitionists because it did not involve any strong-arm police state tactics. Instead, they worked to find alternative crops for farmers to grow that would actually make them more money.

GEE, I wonder if there was/is some kind of correlation?  A symbiosis, if you will…?

Living Off The Grid

pipe dream

pipe dream

Not me.

Not for lack of wanting to.

Back in the 70’s, some of my libertarian (small L) brethren and I mused about what it would take.  And, what living off the grid meant for us.  It did not mean creating some faceless corporation with innocuous fictional officers to purchase a plot of land in the middle of nowhere and moving there with a solar-powered trailer adjacent to a spring.

And with enough ammunition, fishing line and traps to get indigenous game for the rest of our natural lives.

(I’ve blogger friends who have accomplished something close!)

It meant having the option of leaving less of a trail.  Driver’s licenses and credit cards mailed to private post office boxes.  Passports in fictional identities.  Sufficient amounts of cash and gold to fund our meager lives.

With less government interference or surveillance.

Of course, doing all this was a pipe dream for those of us young punks with minimum-wage incomes.  Little did we know that BIGGOV would be in our future to such a degree that getting the gov’t-approved documentation would become much more difficult, expensive and illegal in the ensuing years!  There was a time if there was no criminal intent, there was no crime.  And, if so, it might become a misdemeanor.

Now, it’s a felony, intent regardless.

And we didn’t anticipate The Internet.  Or drones.  Or cellular telephones.

And, not only am I back to a meager income, but, it’s overseen by the government, due to my disability!

And now much of our movement and travel is monitored, as are financial transactions and Internet activity and Email.

I cannot afford to move to Costa Rica, or San Marino.  And I don’t speak their indigenous languages.

Hell, I can’t afford to move 10 blocks…they speak Spanish there, too!

Yep, a pipe dream…

From ‘Across the Pond’

WideShut, a British blog, enlightened me to what folks are thinking about in Merry-Ol’-England…

Specifically, Should 16 Year Olds Get The Vote?

Seriously?

Apparently, in the former Great Britain, one is allowed to drive, have consensual sex, join the army and get married.  All at 16.  Hopefully, not all in the same week.  (Nothing was said about signing contracts.)

Much like the old tale, I remember being 16 and thinking my parents were idiots.  At 22, I couldn’t believe how much they had learned in 6 years!  And the older I get (61 is looming!) the older I think people should be to be able to marry, sign contracts, drive, have consensual sex, and yes, VOTE.

I fear, like so many of the ‘wonderful’ ideas exported infected into the East Coast of the United States from England – ‘free’ health care, anglo-centric Islamofascism, gun control – that this, too will take hold and arrive on these shores.  Complete with a host of other ‘new’ concepts which will be patently un-American, politically-correct and irresponsible to be foisted upon our republican Society.

As I’m fond of saying, “Didn’t we fight a war to get away from these @$$#0les?”

Just because it interested me…

and it’s my blog.

Small Arms Defense Journal had an article regarding Russian underwater guns.

Funny.  I seem to remember a ‘controversy’ some 35 years ago, wherein the owner/editor of Soldier of Fortune magazine claimed to have addressed the problem of firing conventional firearms underwater by demonstrating it could be done (at least with a conventional 1911 pistol) in a Scottsdale resort swimming pool late at night.  I recall alcohol was also involved.

Until a link to this article crossed my desk, I was unfamiliar with SADJ.  I does appear interesting, though.  (attn FTC – they gave me nothing to post this or make these statements you nosy bastards!)

ANYWAY, here’s a photo from the article, if you don’t visit the above link.

Framed in CHINA

Plumbum et Circenses  shows us his new eyeglass frame, pictured below…

Please note it is designated US Army(TM) Army Strong…Frame China

I don’t know why I’m surprised.  We get civilian shoes, clothes, computers, IPADS, IPODS, poisonous children’s toys, poisonous baby food and poisonous pet food…
AND THE WHOLE OF OUR NATION’S FINANCIAL FUTURE!!  from the PRC.
Next will it be missile technology they stole from us sold back to us?  Chinese-made M-16 rifles?
